Turner has been let go by Sunderland. Now available on a free and I would imagine cheap on wages, this would be a player who I would go for over keeping Upson. Hard as nails no nonsense defender who would fit our squad well - subject to fitness.

No idea where you got your information from OP but I would not rely on that source again for anything! As Syd said, Norwich have bought him (fee was undisclosed but thought to in the region of £1.5m). No idea about his wages but I would imagine near the top end of our rather restrained wage structure, which is about £20,000 a week.
That may well be but my point was are paying Upson 40K to not play or play left back! He is not a combative CD by nature although very competent and struggles to fit in with our hoof and clear. We are trying to lower our wage bill and would make more sence for us as a club to have a Turner type player - more cost effective and probably more suitable to our style. I also rate him higher that alot of others, he was excellent at Hull and started well at Sunderland.
