Whaddaya think? (Apart from the link & the headline contradicting each other). http://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-leeds-in-talks-to-cancel-contract-of-15000-a-week-star/? EXCLUSIVE: £10,000-A-WEEK STAR WANTS TALKS TO CANCEL LEEDS CONTRACT Ross Turnbull wants to cancel his Leeds contract and find a new club, Football Insider sources understand. The Elland Road goalkeeper has made only one appearance for the Yorkshire giants since joining from Barnsley in the summer of 2015. A well placed Leeds source has told Football Insider that Turnbull, 31, is keen to negotiate a similar deal to former club captain Sol Bamba, who abruptly quit the club a day after the transfer window closed after reaching a settlement over the remainder of his contract. Like Bamba, Turnbull, whose £10,000-a-week contract expires at the end of the season, wants to agree a pay-off with Leeds and be given the opportunity to join another club as a free agent. Turnbull missed much of his debut season with an ankle injury but returned to full fitness over the summer and began the season on the bench as back-up to new No1 Rob Green after both keepers leapfrogged Marco Silvestri in the pecking order. Silvestri had initially been frozen out by new manager Garry Monk but the Italian has returned to the matchday squads for the last seven Leeds matches and started the midweek League Cup win over Blackburn when Green was rested. Green is set to be reinstated for Saturday’s Championship clash against Ipswich, which will once again leave Turnbull on the sidelines. The former Chelsea and Middlesbrough keeper, who has made 34 Premier League appearances in addition to 110 in the Championship and League One, is now looking for a move to reignite his flagging career.
He wants out. So why do we need to pay him off? If we wanted rid fair enough! Let him resugn and give him feck all.
FFS - he made an honest attempt at a humorous comment. Was he attacking you - NO (Did you see what I did there? ).
Agree chippy.the way i see it is we pay him some money and he signs for abother club.which i suspect is already lined up.we then have to pay again to get another keeper.agent involved here i think.
So you're happy for us to continue paying wages for a guy who has little chance of playing, as opposed to doing a deal and paying him off thereby saving us wages. DOH!!!!
In effect he wants us to honour his contract and pay him to **** off so how do we save wages? He wants to leave he needs to take the hit.
But we would have to replace him with someone else in all likelyhood. Silvestri wont be here after the next window.
