Fulham fan in peace. After a summer and 30 days of bugger all in terms of transfer activity it's all kicking off at Craven Cottage with myself and fellow Fulham fans getting worked into a frenzy with all the rumours and spectulation. Will West Ham screw us over? All remains to be seen. Just wanted to get some opinions on the two young lads we're being heavily linked with, Tunnicliffe and Cole. Would you be sad to see them go or are they unlikely to step up to the first team as Wellbeck and Cleverly have managed?
Hard to tell really. They look good at youth level, but don't seem to have stepped up to the first team in a convincing way. I think Cole fell behind Januzaj, and Tunnicliffe won't be risked in our midfield whilst it's still an area of weakness. So not good enough for Utd right now, but they both have the potential to become as good as other ones from our youth team who didn't make it here (think Gillespie, Shawcross, Robbie Savage, Danny Higginbotham, Frazier Campbell etc). I reckon they'll be good additions to your squad if nothing else.
In all seriousness though, I haven't seen to much of the 2 players your on about. Though it wouldn't be the first time recently that we've let good young players go, Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison spring to mind
Utd must be kicking themselves on Pogba, I saw a story linking him with a 70 million euro move to PSG. Would have been a beast the team was built around.
