After 30 years Monty Python are reforming. Good idea or bad idea. This could turn out disastrous I think. Let sleeping parrots lie. They are in their 70's ffs. Graham Chapman? Will they dig up his skeleton or parade his urn and ashes on stage. John Cleese is an obnoxious and arrogant **** anyway.
It will be terrible... Old men being surreal! I like a lot of the Python stuff but some of it is pish.
The films were good (Life of Brian is surely an all time classic) but the series were a tad hit and miss. Maybe if i'd been watching when they were actually produced i might have found them funnier. You've actually hit on my favourite sketch through the thread title anyway! I think the big problem was some of the sketches went on a tad too long and lost the sting - i seem to remember one about a new housing estatte which was the fuirst of its kind to be built entirely by characters form 18th century english literature - started off well but then got crap. Actually the international philosphy match between Geramany and Greece was brilliant as well now i think about it.
The role reversal on the Tungsten Carbide sketch is hilarious. Also my favourite sketch Dan. "Yer dads got writer's cramp, son"
"The Life Of Brian" is beginning to end comic genius. Sadly, that was Monty Python's 15 minutes. Nearly everything else they ever did was utter pish. Latched onto by twats who thought it was cool to be "into" them. We are the knights who go neep. Go **** yerself.
In fairness I prefer the Holy Grail over the Life of Brian any day, except the Knights who say nee.... never really got them
"The Holy Grail" had some moments but is light years away from being even close to "The Life Of Brian". "Gregory's Girl" is funnier that "The Holy Grail" fur **** sake.
