Following on from OTIB's thread about Bristol Sport Ltd. (1) Which is the next sport you think will come under the umbrella? (2) Which sport would you like to see next under the umbrella?
It must be one that is for both genders. Also one that does not involve large outdoor space. So I would go for Gymnastics. Or even thinking laterally, a tie up with David Lloyd Tennis Centre to get more playing tennis.
Would the fans resist a move towards making Bristol City a "sports" club, rather than a football club? A lot of teams on the continent house teams for numerous different sports, so it wouldn't be too strange to see a Bristol City basketball team, or a Bristol City American Football team, or even a Bristol City tennis club?
I wouldn't as long as the football club, rugby, athletics etc were all run by their own organisations why shouldn't we have a situation where other sports can benefit from interacting with each other. One good thing might come out of it 'sports medicine' getting the best Doctors/Physios and equipment is expensive but if you have a lot of organisations each contributing then it becomes far more feasable, as it isn't just one club be it football or otherwise who is footing the bill.
Perhaps SL could hijack the building of the UWE stadium put the Greyhound/Speedway track there think of how pissed the blue few would be if they had to pay rent to SL
If he don't get the ground, he could then use the ground for demolition derbies. That would be nice for them
