Willie has chosen the most low key affair possible for Briar Hill's debut over hurdles. The race is the first in Ireland tomorrow afternoon.
please log in to view this image Strange starting point Bob but he should prevail...Great little course Wexford.
Looking for 4 shorties for a yankee again so here we go: Wex 12.45 Briar Hill Wex 13.15 Lord Of Lords Wex 13.45 Royal Moll Ling 2.20 Seventh Hussar
I am putting up another all weather selection for tomorrow after Flemish Schools victory today as I am finding the all Weather racing a little more consistent than anything else at present. Wolverhampton 4.00 Angelito 9-1 This horse is one I think has been unfortunate for one reason or another on a number of his recent runs but I feel if he gets the breaks tomorrow he could be more than capable of taking this race. Part of the attraction is the price as I feel it to be too big and so would advise taking it this evening at best odds if possible.
Lucky 15 for me tomorrow, two at a decent ew price and two at a relatively crap price 1:10 Southwell - Glenridding 14/1 3:10 Southwell - Divertimenti 10/1 5:30 Wolverhampton - Appyjack 7/2 6:00 Wolverhampton - Poppy Bond 9/2
Emperaritz in the 12 40 at Southwell, has a wide draw, but have noticed lately that it seems to be an advantage - the form of its run at ayr has been franked, likewise last time here-- i'm taking the chance that this three year old can win this donkey trot !
Paul nichols said the other day somewhere that the plan was to run tidal and Silvy in the betfair. Not sure if it's common knowledge, but it's worth noting that due to drainage work this years race is going to be run at 3m1f instead of 3. And with horses like bobs worth and tidal bay it could make a huge difference. Especially to horses like cue card.
Delighted to be seeing Briar Hill at Wexford today was pretty surprised he is to start off here as it's not often we get a good one going through here so I hope he disposes of his rivals with consummate ease, it's going to be bloody freezing but a few winners will hopefully warm me up a bit. Two I like are Aonvarr 4/1 in the 3:15 and Blazing Sonnet 3/1 in the 3:45 so there's 2 you can all chalk off your boards immediately ..the Foxhunters Chase will be interesting as ever shame it doesn't bode the quality of last year's where I remember a good group of lad's had it right off on track on Tammy's Hill to beat Salsify and he duly did to my disappointment so hopefully we might get word on track about something in that and actually back it this time around! Best of luck everyone
That'll bring the weights up a bit. As hawkeye says, it looks like connections are favouring Haydock. Probably more chance of prize money there?
In his betfair column he says sam t d is in line for the ride. Gonna be a cracking race on saturday. What did everyone make of briar hill then? Steps over the hurdles I thought. Gonna be some chaser.
