Bit of a dilemma today. 8.15 Uttoxeter Significant Move I put Significant Move up LTO when he should really have trounced all over the field on stable debut. However, he didn't really receive what you'd call a professional ride from the stable claimer, Chris Ward. My tracker notes are 'needs a pro jockey on board but on a very workable mark'. Unfortunately, Chris Ward is given a second chance on Tuesday to win on a horse who should really just be going through the motions to pick up the W. On the balance of things i expect him to win well and probably will be reasonably punted so the early price will be telling. If it's around 3/1 or better i'll have a dig. If it's shorter then it's probably a watching brief.
Billy's Hope 7/2 Roscommon 8.35 - Dead heated for 2nd in a Punchestown bumper behind dual bumper winner Now Let Go. Pride of The Braid whom she dead heated with had won a Wexford bumper prior to the Punchestown race also. Aidan O'Brien has the favourite in Kalopsia who has twice been 2nd in bumper runs, getting collared on the line LTO by Glacial Drift. If the experience is not lost on Billy's Hope I would fully expect her to open her account in this bumper, the form of her debut look's the strongest on the table to me. Jessica Harrington's daughter Kate does the steering and hopefully she get's Billy home 1st.
Pontefract 2:10 - Sandahl 2/1. The maiden he won at York lto is looking like a decent one, the first 4 that followed him home have all came out and won since, would imagine further improvement to come. He was a bit green that day so we'll see how that goes this time, 2/1 does seem short but I'm happy to be with him here. Wolves 2:25 - Houdini 5/1. A C&D winner who has been running well on the turf recently, he's maybe in need of a bit of help from the handicapper to come down a few lbs, but I'll take my chances on him back on a surface he's proven on.
****er bet. 3.10 Pontefract Temptress 5/4 Coral - 80 points Pelerin 6/1 B365 - 15 points Rekdhat 10/1 PP - 10 points
"Ron, post: 8102879, member: 1000896"]****er bet. 3.10 Pontefract Temptress 5/4 Coral - 80 points Pelerin 6/1 B365 - 15 points Rekdhat 10/1 PP - 10 points[/QUOTE] Couldn't bring mrself to back temptress ron but all over rekdhat at 7s got bumped lto after a long break , varian has booked lee who he operates very well with. Ew odds are a bonus
Roscommon 6.00-Children's List jumped off the page and caught my eye and suprised to see 9/4 still available. His win at Tramore lto has worked out very well(5th place has once since)and what is putting me off the fav is its owned by JP who doesnt like his horses 'pushed to hard'this time of year with Galway just around the corner.Mullins on the other hand is always hungry for a winner.9/4 could be a gift!
richard Lee's daughter Kerry has her first runners under her own name tonight-wonder if they are primed? you'd expect a good show , definite future in the 2m handicap chase, and Goldray in the 8 45 hurdle ....they both have reasonable chances , 6/1 and 16/1
I'm also backing Danzoe in the first at Wolverhampton. Loves the track. Loves the jockey. 5/1 seems very fair.
Sandahl now a non runner at Pontefract. Holy Grail has now been put as favourite for the race at 5/2, I won't be having another bet on it but with my pick out the race I think Holy Grail will now take all the beating and 5/2 is a fair price.
Let's see if I can get the day off to a good start. In the opener at Ponty I'm going for the outsider KUMANAVSUMFUN AT 12's.
Novak backers out of jail by a severe cause of bottlement by the big lad. Having seen Novak's struggles I can only have more faith in Andy bringing it home now.
In the Pontefract 3:10, Royal Hunt Cup runner-up Temptress looks like a bit of a penalty kick, but at such a cramped price would I really want to risk her getting the strongly-run race that she needs? I think not. Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon would be a better bet...
I wish the Newmarket July Meeting was still Tuesday to Thursday – I would be there this afternoon instead of sifting through some mediocre midweek offerings. As it is, I think that I have found a reason to amble down to the bookies this evening for a quarter of an hour: Brighton 8:25 – this looks like a two horse race on form and I expect front-running Juventas to set it up for old girl WELSH INLET (11/4), who has found a new lease of life at the age of seven and can complete a hat-trick for William Carson on just a two pound higher mark than last time.
Absolutely sluiced home, wish we had the inside info on that. Godolphin horse who was morning favourite reared as the stalls opened and lost 10-15 lengths
8.45 Uttoxeter. WELCOMETOTHEJUNGLE 2-1. On a number of websites the forecast starting price for this is 20-1 outsider. Yet it is now the favourite. So either all the websites have made an error or......it will win!
