Will try to keep the old DRT active as I have a few bob in the piggy-bank, which will probably vanish soon enough! With its 16-runners going to post at the moment, the Apprentice Handicap (47-65) at Gowran Park (16:30), over 1m on good ground, is one heck of a tough-looking affair? In his comments on the course, the former 'great', Mick Kinane, said that it is a partiicularly tricky track, and to get caught wide at the start of 7f/8f races can be disastrous as the first bend comes up quickly. So, that needs to be heeded. Will take a chance with the young Showcasing filly, Campari Soda**. Not well-drawn in Stall-13, but then several other fancied runners have a poor draw too. Selection wears blinkers as in previous races. James Ryan rides for the Dermot Weld stable. 13/2 top price early-doors, in most places on the ATR site. E/W best option. (**A refreshing drink in the summer months, hope I still feel 'refreshed' after the race! )
