No takers today so I'll put one up. Looking at the 14.47 Leicester there did not seem much between the ones who have run. I thought Project Incheon looked as good as any after a debut third which looked like another furlong would help. Now up to 7F I expect the Archie Watson horse to be there or thereabouts. He has drifted to an each way price at 7/1 now. I think the drift may be due to being too short to start with and he may find support nearer the off. 14.47 Leicester Project Incheon 7/1 EW
He ran a stinker there. Was priced up as 15/8 Fav in the racing papers but hit 10/1 before finding support.
With 4 places available I will chance Star of Atlantis E/W in the 9.00 Wolverhampton. Currently 16/1 is available with paddy power
Very taking performance by the winner. That would be a personal best for the dam and as good a prospect as the sire has had. I think we can discard any of the others in behind. Hard to assess where the winner may end up. There were a couple of runners with RPR in the 60's but Project Incheon ran miles below that mark today. Runner up and favourite Eyes Front came in rated 65 and it will depend if he has run to that today, failed to match it, or perhaps improved a bit. Not a race to be confident about with some poor horses in the mix and one of the better rated running a honker but impressive by Amberia nonetheless. Given the quality of the sire I feel there will be a ceiling on how good she may ultimately prove. Interesting to see where they take her next. The time was a little over a second faster than the second division of the race.
Loughnane had a good Coulsty filly some years back called Santosha. She won the Princess Margaret Stakes (Group 3) after winning on her debut. She was then 3rd in the Duchess of Cambridge of Stakes (G2) but then disappeared, so probably got injured. Loughnane must have a thing about Coulstys. Difficult for a sire like this to rise from the pool of second tier sires out there, but to be fair he's had consistently fair winners to runners ratios. Strangely his 2yo ratio is moderate, so horses must tend to improve with age. Only had 20-30 runners in his first 4 seasons at stud but in 2023 covered 85 mares and in 2024 74: so not friendless. He has had a Group 1 winner in the States (Shantisara). Amberia's granddam was pretty useful, running some good races in France and winning a Group 1 race in USA. Vincent O'Brien trained her 4th dam and she was useful. Good family but Grendel is right her dam has been disappointing. Filly looked as if she could be tightened up a bit so maybe there's some improvement to be had. Should stay 8f+.
Coulsty is only 5500 euros a pop so that would help with popularity. Frankel is £350000 a go, an altogether different world. Wouldn't like to insure his nuts
