7:15 James Street Well handicapped and tomorrow they should go a better pace for him. As long as he gets a clear run, I think he’ll win. Double it up with siameses for a double (header?)
Gordy running Andy Dufresne in the bumper at DR, cost JP 330k.He'll want to make an impression with a name and price tag like that!!
Half of shawshank have backed him, with cigarettes of course.Warden Norton gets his due 20% and some apple pie, everybody's happy except for the old man who feeds the bird in the library, he doesnt gamble.
The champs Elyses filly Parisian affair catches my eye. I’ve taken to the sires offspring lately and she run in what I think was a hot bumper lto.
She was some way behind the reopposing Tops No the last day but the interesting thing about her is that her half brother is a five time winner on the AW. I am just not sure that she has it in her pedigree to fully see out the trip.
Morning, Royals. Morning, celebrities. Morning, ordinary members of the public. Scarlet Dragon introduced then with a rating of 136. Don’t think connections will be that downbeat by that. Also see that The Lieutenant’s Janika was put up 6 lbs to 156. Guess it might be Grade 1’s soon for that old boy. Maybe even the race that those Cock-en-nee chaps call ‘The Dan Dare’. Troops, unfortunately, Lingers Park has been abandoned. Try to hide your disappointment stoically.
If they got good ground at Newbury on Betfair Hurdle day he could be interesting with a capital "I" off that mark. I think he has significant scope as a hurdler but is, of course, very much ground dependent.
Just seen Bennys Bridge has been raised 7lbs. Surely that makes him a good thing again next time if he goes for a big field handicap. I know I’d be sending him to Sandown!!
Can anyone tell me, please. Is Lingfield off??? Re your favourite race at Sandown Park, incidentally. Harry Fry has got one being aimed at the heat. Outstanding PM - Christian name and then surname initial. No, not David C or Margaret T. Winston C. He strongly mentioned it in a ‘Weekender stable tour’ a couple of weeks ago. Currently perched on 126. Needs another run, to qualify, but is a couple of contests later this week.
Winston C deliverered our first success of the New Year with a fluent victory in a competitive maiden hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday. Rated 87 on the flat he was sent to us by Charles Wentworth in the summer and ran well on a couple of occasions on the level in the final weeks of the season before an encouraging debut over hurdles at Huntingdon where he stayed on to finish third behind the smart novice Brewin’upastorm. Ridden closer to the pace this time Winston C jumped well before moving ahead between the last two flights and readily holding the challenge of Grand Inquisitor by two and a quarter lengths. I’d imagine he will run again in a few weeks to gain more experience and I’d like to think that he can develop into a useful handicapper over hurdles. Winston C is certainly a useful dual purpose horse to have in the yard and will be suited by an end to end gallop when he can be dropped in before using his flat race speed to good effect on the flat.
That wasn’t the quote from The Weekender. He specifically mentioned the old Imperial Cup in that. Interesting quote that though. I see he mentions Winston C as being ‘a useful dual purpose horse to have in the yard’. Does that mean Mr Fry has dreams of going all Alan King and becoming either dual purpose himself or even converting to the level??? Re Alan King by the way he So, with a capital ‘S’, wants to train top flat horses. Will he get the ammo over the next few seasons??? Last term was a personal best and in terms of numbers he's now at his highest ever regarding his Flat string.
