Not fully exposed in my opinion. Has shown ability when placed in a couple of maidens over 5f on the AW. Ran better than finishing position may suggest last time out at Kempton over 7f("Took keen hold, chased winner, ridden over 2f out, outpaced and lost second over 1f out, soon weakened, lost shoe (vet said filly had lost her right-hind shoe). Back over 5 f today and starting from stall 2 could have race run to suit. Stable amongst the winners recently and Shane Kelly rides the track well.

Good luck everyone with your selections today.

    3:20 - De Vegas Kid

This is the horse in the race with course form (4 wins from 8) and he has also got the best back form in the book. The ground would be a slight worry but he is very versatile and some of his better form has been on ground with cut in it.

    4:10 Final Voyage

I think this horse is massively overpriced, given that he is 3 from 3 at the track. He is probably the most exposed in the race, but that doesn't mean that he can't carry on improving and looks to have masses in his favour.

    6:35 Real Armani

Guess what? Yes, he has got very good course form in relation to this race. Conditions perfect for him and I expect another good show from him here.

At Nottingham King Of Clubs is quite a warm favourite for the 1.45 race. He is officially rated 82 after two fifths and a second for Hughie Morrison and I thought perhaps he might go for a Handicap next but he is in a maiden today. He is well tipped and sets a reasonable standard but a few others are open to improvement and he comes away from Wolverhampton to race on soft turf now. At 6/4 I had to pass.

Just Jacob was 8th on his sole start but he represents William Haggas and could improve. He does have a lot to find with the fav though and the odds more than take into account the stable strength.

Goodwood Glen has been tickled at in the betting but it wasn't a great race he placed in on debut and the stable are winnerless for the best part of a month and are 0/27 this past fortnight.

I went with Just For Yuse. The Archie Watson gelding was third on his debut where he led coming into the closing stages but was being collared when he was hampered by the horse who had passed him. He was rallying at the time but although he would not have won I think he should have been second. I feel he has scope to improve and I don't think he would need a big step forward to be involved here.

1.45 Nottingham Just For Yuse 11/2

The betting told the tale as the selection drifted to 8/1 and the fav was backed from 6/4 to odds on. Just For Yuse was sent on early but never looked comfortable and coming into the closing stages he faded. The fav came belting through and shot clear despite a really exaggerated knee lift action. Disappointed with Just For Yuse there.

As I had said, I expected King Of Clubs to go for a Handicap from his 82 OR and Hughie has "Donald Ducked" that mark after today's romp. I think he will go up heavily after this show and he'll have to deny a much loftier rating to score in a handicap after he is re-assessed.

Just a neck and a half length beaten in third. Not bad at all at 16/1.

In the last at Brighton I will have a small each way bet on Cry Wolf. Lurks on a dangerous mark and Thore Hammer-Hansen who has ridden him when he won 13 runs ago has been booked today and takes off 3lb. I always have a close eye on runners from the Alex Dunn yard in low grade handicaps at Brighton.
