Morning lads. Gone for an each way lucky 31 and each way accy and start a daily thread at the same time. That's what I call multi tasking. Save the Bees 5/1 3.30 Beverley Blackstone Vegas 13/2 4.00 Beverley Landesherr 9/1 NAP 5.30 Beverley Spic n Span 13/2 6.00 Southwell Dunaskin 12/1 7.00 Southwell Good luck to all punting today!
3.30 Beverley Christmas Light 16/1 This 5 year old mare looks exactly the type of horse that new trainer Brian Ellison will excel with and after her recent reappearance run I think she could be primed for a big run today. Previously with David O'Meara, in the height of her career she put in some good performances off marks of 77 and 78 in 2010 with the last of her two career wins coming off a mark of 68 last year at Redcar. She's now back down to a mark of 65 and when taking into account her previous efforts and that she is now 3lb below her last winning mark I think she looks well enough weighted to strike. 3 days ago she made her reappearance run after a 9 month break on heavy ground that wouldn't have suited too much and I thought she put in a very encouraging effort to finish a 4.25L beaten 5th in a Class 5 handicap. She's always needed a run to get her back up to speed and I was more than satisfied with her first run for her new trainer. The form of that race looks rather strong with the 2nd Master of Dance winning well today eased in grade off the same mark. Moreover, the winner Collateral Damage is a very well handicapped horse who I am sure will run up a sequence now securing his first win in quite a while. Although upped in class today off the same mark, I think Christmas Light will come on a lot for her latest effort and should strip fitter today. Furthermore, the current good ground will suit much more and should bring about further improvement. Given Beverley is certainly a venue where course form is very important, her 1L and 2.75L defeats at the track in her two previous visits definitely demonstrate she goes well enough at the track. Graham Lee is an interesting booking for the yard and it will represent only his 3rd ride for Ellison (his 2nd will come in the 2.30) and he has made an extremely good transition to flat racing recently. I'm convinced Ellison will be able to revitalise her career which he has been so adept at doing with similar horses who had lost their way. I think its also interesting that her previous owner hasn't sold her and she obviously thinks there is more to come from her. With a good draw in stall 4, if this race doesn't come too soon after her first start in 9 months then I envisage a big run at a big price and hopefully she can resume winning ways to continue the good form of her stable. I'll also be playing the RFC with fellow 16/1 shot Stylistickhill who hails from the in form Scott Dixon yard. An unexposed 4 year old, this filly doesn't like her mark of 60 is the ceiling and she too should improve for her recent reappearance run. Mirco Demero takes the ride (his only at the track) and is currently 1-1 for the yard.
Dads funeral today but 2 bets for me today Yarmouth 6:20-Blades Rose 3/1 her 2nd at Thirsk the last day was a step up in terms of form and the winner that day has since came out and won again. She wouldn't have to improve that much to take this Nursery and trainer has a good record here. 6:50-Novalist 4/1 Loves it Soft and was a winner the last day at Thirsk just getting the better of Ingleby Arch.Has been risen just 3 pounds for that and can go very close here. 2 singles and a double
One from me today is from the in form Ruth Carr stable and runs in the 3.00 Beverley CHOSEN ONE 12/1 EW
morning all, Fammy, thoughts with you and family today mate, not a pleasent ordeal but an oppertunity to focus on nice memories. Quel, excellent bumper pick last night. Just finished Richard Hughes book, not too bad a read, he did well to kick the alcohol into touch and has progressed to be a useful exponant of his sport since. He said he loved his Monday nights at Windsor so I wasted some of my hard earned last night to no avail. He states that the majority of his winning rides come from his father in law's 2 year olds, (I guess you knowledgable form gurus already know that) and that his luckiest and favourite meeting is Glorious Goodwood, so may be worth noting very soon. If the summer ever arrives. I see that R. Varion has a debutant running in the first at Yarmouth, Hazzaat, which is being nibbled at. also at Yarmouth our old friend Barney Curley has one on the drift in the last, always one to keep an eye on! Fancy Tinsletown in the lucky last at Beverley, currently 7/1 and if all 16 go will be paying 4 places and should certainly be in the frame.
so sorry to hear that famous-Puts things in perspective that some things are more important than a few winners here and there
Morning all, new to the site, my three fancies today are; 2:00 Beverley - Miss Ella Jade 3:00 Beverley - Chosen One ew 7:00 Southwell - Dunaskin ew Good luck today guys..... Sorry to hear your news famous.
Sorry to hear your news famous - my father passed away last year, hope the day goes as well as can be hoped
Anybody any thoughts on the monzino plunge 830 tonight 33/1 into 12/1? Is trainer prone to this type of thing? LTO 15 out of 16 at 80/1!!!
15:30 Beverley - Icy Blue (ROTO gives a persuasive case for Christmas Light in his above post, especially as this horse's speedfigures put him in the race with a good chance. However, just three days from LTO puts me off a bit over a middle distance on a stiff track IMHO?. Best of luck with this selection though. Will go for Icy Blue because he showed promise LTO after being a bit unlucky in running. The eight days from this last run isn't much of a break, for sure, but he should have recovered enough to do himself justice today).
