I have watched this guy play numerous times for Crawley over the last couple of seasons and I have always been impressed with him. He has scored plenty of goals, got a good technique and above all he is always hungry to score goals. At the age of 27 he would be the type of player that we should be looking for and at £500K he would be a real bargain.

I know we dont really need strikers (well we do because we only have crap ones apart from Scotland) but in order to build for the future this would be a quality signing for us. I would also make an offer for their Centre Back McFadzen as well. He has all the qualities needed for a Centre Back. He is strong, good in the air, good distribution and has pace. These 2 players are much too good for League 2 as they proved last year when Crawley nearly held Man Utd in the FA Cup. These are the types of players Jewell should have been signing last summer instead of Premiership has beens!

Was talking to a good friend of mine about the Crawley team, and who played against Tubbs a few weeks back in the FA cup for Redbridge, he did mention that Tubbs was different class to anyone on the pitch, and was a lot more effective than Drury was. That said, this is the 4th division we are talking about, and, at 27, will not really improve. Would he be good enough to jump up two divisions and make an impact in our team? Personally, i think not. We need to aim a little bit higher than him. Im all for getting players from lower leagues, but i would prefer younger players, who can improve with age.

That maybe so but Drury was our best player last home game & Northampton might have something to say about the gulf between us & League 2.
At 27 he has a good 5 years left in him, a gamble to be sure & with our track record this year........<yikes>

Havent Crawley said he isnt for sale and considering they dont need the cash (and we dont really need a striker) I dont really see the point
The central defender you have mentioned was rumoured to be Cahills replacement at Bolton so may be the better one to persue

When Town are away I sometimes go and watch Crawley as they are my nearest local team at the moment. I have watched them many times and the Centre Back pairing of Claude Davis and McFadzen look very solid. Yes we are talking about League 2 but they are much better than that league as Crawley's league position makes clear. We really should be sending scouts to some of these clubs. There are real gems in League 1 & 2 and lets be clear Burley, Magilton and Even Sir Bobby himself was not adverse to taking a punt on some of these players in the past.

Its complicated but in a nutshell I live in Crawley during the week and then spend my weekends back home in Cambridge. Never get divorced and remarried with kids involved <ok>

Spanish, no disrepect meant with this comment but given your location have you seen Chops much this season? He has been pathetic and is playing like he has 2 broken legs

Have to agree with the others Spanish, A hungry player who knows where the back of the net is. How many times did we talk about Le Fondre or even dare i say Grunt. Better than some over the hill prima donna using us to top up his pension.

Still has a long way to go as yet, I'm sure Cleggy can cock this up!
