Trump orders National Guard to America's second biggest city LA to restore order. Petrol bombs thrown by protestors as Ice teams attempt immigration raids.

LA Mayor says Ice team sowing seeds of terror.

    Planned demonstrations to continue.

Wonder where the National Guard were when protesters were storming Capitol Hill?

I said months ago the Trump appointment could easily lead to a civil war over there and I still think that's the case. The bloke is an incendiary megalomaniac, him and Putin are two sides of the same coin.

Everyone is laughing in disbelief at him, it was inevitable he would fall out with Musk who put him there in the first place and it's making the likes of China more powerful simply through their silence.

These ICE teams are going in armed,
un-uniformed, masked up, in un-marked cars, and taking whoever they feel like.

Now where have I read about snatch squads before.....

Headline suggests Trump ever had control.

Man is a threat to the world.

What's truly frightening is that no matter what he does his supporters will fanatically defend him.

I don't think he's losing control at all. He's taking ever greater control, using his power to override the long established laws of the world's leading democracy and taking away the freedoms and civil rights of anyone who might disagree with him.

This is a key moment in the future of America.

If we see reciprocal demonstrations across the country, it will be hard for Trump to shut that down with force, though there would be some nasty and violent clashes with civilians on the far right taking the opportunity to take matters into their own hands.

If we see The National Guard successfully oppress the people, then I think we've witnessed the beginning of the end for American democracy.

The best (safest) outcome is that the California governor manages to settle things down and stand up for his people, becoming the leading Democratic hope in the process. Newsom is someone who can win the next election (if there is one).

I think a lot of his supporters are beginning to realise that he’s weak and lost.
He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
When he realises that he’s out of his depth he stands back and says it’s not his problem. Like Ukraine.
Putin has played him. Xi has played him.
He only exhibits strength where he sees weakness.
    He’s a big baby bully.

It's embarrassing how Putin and Xi have played Trump like the fool he is. Time for the West to realise this and form a European army to stand up to Putin aggression.

I've just clicked the "watch live" button on the bbc website just to see the latest on this.

They very quickly turned the sound off when a chant started "Hey hey, ho, ho, this fascist **** has got to go!" <laugh>

I know it's not a funny situation in general, but I love owt like this!

It was absolute cringing when Boris Johnson was chuckling about Putin and his phone call regarding Ukraine.

Then we had Trump claiming he'd have a chat and the war would be sorted in weeks.

Putin has made them both look the fools they undoubtedly are ...

... that would be funny if it didn't put us all in danger.

I'm at the point whereby, at almost 70 years old, I'm starting to think I may just 'get out' before it all goes to shyte.

These tossers are like sad office dwellers who were invited on the lads night out and don't really know how to react.

Trump now sent 20000 anti shaheed drones to Egypt that were promised to ukraine by Biden. Trump really screwing over Ukraine, he needs to be taken out although if he was I think Vance would be worse

He was and never will be in control.

What we see, hear and read has always been scripted.

He's a puppet, like so many before him.

There's previously been noises about California breaking away from the US. Wonder if this will affect things

That's easy to say when you don't have a shred of proof mate ...

... I've seen the same stuff stated for donkey's years and no one ever gives a straight answer when you question them.

I don't think America is that stupid to allow presidents like Bush, Reagan and Trump to make the countries important or radical decisions. They need a stooge to take the blame.

If these people are as clever as you’re claiming why do they need a stooge …

… why not just get things right?

Because most of the changes they want to make goes against popular opinion.

Immigration, taxation importation all smoke and mirrors. It doesn't take much to stoke Trumps ego, any great idea has been suggested to him. The best part is he doesn't know he's getting played. Whe he's of no more use they will find a way to get rid of him, like getting someone to expose the Epstein files.

Not a chance that will happen whilst he's helping israel destabilise the region, if he suddenly falls out with Netanyahu and pulls out of the middle east that's when you could see something like that.
