http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ake-6-5m-bid-Watford-striker-Troy-Deeney.html According to the mail. I hope not...I'd quite like him at QPR
You wouldn't want both? Maybe this is just smoke & mirrors to encourage Fraizer Campbell to get his skates on
I think he's just what we need and all but I don't want him here on the sole reason that he's a monumental bellend.
I'd take Deeney for £6.5m over Ulloah for £10m to be fair but an interesting lineup if both of them come along with Vardy and Nugent
Strikers, strikers, strikers. Although I know that it´s good to have some good striking options, that alone ain´t going to keep us in the prem. I just hope NP & his staff are looking to improve through out. Still not to convinced about our summer spending... so far any way.
Watford say No and Leicester turn down Watford who wanted King http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/
I don't want Deeney. He seems a bit of an arsehole so I can't see Nigel being interested. Also overrated IMO
I wonder if some of the players we are being linked with are false trails put out by the club to make the signing of Ulloa, when it eventually happens, look like a dream signing in comparison.
Seems a strange one really, I wouldn't value him any higher than Ulloa. You can see why Nigel's going in for him- big, strong, likes to bully defenders and can find the back of the net. I'm not sure about shelling out another potential £10million on another Championship striker.
What's Nige doing? Trying to sign every Championship player who has ever done well against us (for Premiership fees!)? I'd rather have Vydra than Deeney is so. What happened to digging up hidden gems? Come on Nige, this isn't like you!
Deeney for anything over 7m is over priced. As is Ulloa. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't do a job here. Look at Hull, they've signed a few good players on an absolute **** load. Huddlestone 5m, Livermore 8m, Snodgrass 8m, Rose 5m (not sure its been completed yet), Davies 3m+, Long 7m, Jelavic 7m. That's only in one year. If you want the players then spend the money, it doesn't really matter if the owner is as good as ours. The risk is that if you're relegated that you could become the next Birmingham or equivalent. Have to say though. If you offered me Ulloa and Deeney for 14m or Long and Jelavic for 14m then it's a no brainer. Jelavic has been awful in the Premier League.
Two things when comparing us to Hull: They were one of the worst teams to ever get automatic promotion and HAD to spend a fortune to survive. We have got promoted in much better shape. Secondly, most, if not all, of their players had prem experience and were "proven". Neither Ulloa or Deeney are. On balance I probably would agree with you that about which strike duo I'd have, although I'd say: Ulloa>Long>Jelavic>Deeney. That said, I find it hard to assess Deeney objectively as I think he should be banned from professional football for life for what he did.
Which ever way you look at it £14mil for Long and Jelavic was alot for that Strike partnership and £15.5+mil for Deeney and Ulloa is also paying more than its probably worth but i suppose on the scale of things its peanuts with you look at all the T.V money Premier League Football brings.
