An old pop song from the 60's. Here comes summer, winter's gone oh happy day. Here comes summer and Pulis is on his way
You wonder about the accuracy of articles like this. Sounds like someone stirring up a story, however let's say it is true and he is wanting to go in the summer, where would he actually go. You can't see him being snapped up by a club in the top ten and a number of those just below Stoke have good managers, Pardew, O'Neill etc. He would end up at a championship side with the aim of restoring them to glory. Maybe a big older club like, dare I say it, Leeds, who will be looking for a manager in the summer and are fairly desperate for a PL return. May in fact suit both parties, Pullis will think he has gone up in the world in terms of club size and Leeds are not right bothered what style of football they play to get promoted. If Pullis had any sense he would knuckle down get us safe and negotiate from strength in the summer. Interesting that the Mail has picked up on a few stories at Stoke re this and crowd discontent and I think they have a direct link to someone at Stoke. The discontent is starting to damage the club and whilst forums like these tend to lead to the more vocal minority calling for the managers head, it would be really interesting to see if the vocal minority are beginning to become a majority. I don't think there are a majority of Stoke fans who want to see Pullis go at present but say three straight defeats and a proper relegation battle and I think the pendulum would move. That could snowball into intense negativity and effect the players further and that is my biggest fear. Personally I think all thoughts of the manager's position should wait until the summer. No chairman in their right mind would replace their manager now given our position (Reading please note-what a poor decision that was) and we should put all our efforts into vocal support home and away to ensure we retain PL status. Up the Potters
If the article is true: How up his own arse is he? He has wasted so much money and then dares to question how funds are being directed into the accademy rather than a transfer kitty that he will juyst waste on carp or players he wont play! I dont think its a minority of fans that are concerned, given that TP has always split fans opinion from day 1! I think what colours the judgement of the home crowd is that over 50% are new fans who have only been season ticket holders for the last couple of years. As a championship season ticket holder (as a lot of us are/were) in the begining, the average crowd was approximatley 12-14K and it was only in the latter stages of our promotion campaign did we start to fill up! The area where I sit (and this has also been noted by people who sit in other stands aswell) I hardly recognise anyone from the last couple of championship season or the 1st couple of prem seasons, and the reason is that they were/are unhappy with TP or the way we play!
Smithers that's one of the reasons I was unsure about the truth of the article. It would be crass to criticise the new facilities and youth development openly and would bring him into conflict with his employers big style. Not clever unless you want to leave and I'm not convinced he does. Pullis loves being a PL manager-massages his ego. Re the minority/majority debate, take your point re Pullis dividing opinion from day 1. In some respects it is unimportant until season end as long as we put any differences aside and just ensure we retain our status
It is understood Pulis, who previously managed Stoke between 2002 and 2005, could even be tempted by a move to America, where his son, Anthony, is playing for Orlando City. Stoke City, who moved the Austin Aztex organization to Orlando. The team was announced on October 25, 2010. Rawlins stated at the press conference that he intends to bring a Major League Soccer franchise to Orlando "within 3â5 years", and intends to bring international matches to the city as well. Rawlins is President and majority owner of the club's ownership group, Orlando Sports Holdings. Also in the group is Brendan Flood, a board member of English Championship club Burnley. Rawlins announced that the Aztex organization would remain intact in Orlando, with Adrian Heath being retained as manager and most of the team's players returning as well. On January 23 2013, Orlando City signed a two year deal to be the official USL Pro affiliate of Sporting Kansas City. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando_City_Soccer_Club Pulis could join Orlando and be with his Son on a sundrenshed beach and leave all his troubls behind him
He's ****ed if he goes to the states! One think the yanks expect is entertainment! Anyone seen the flim Money Ball based on the true events a major league baseball team that played the percentages? As successful as they were, they were slated and cosidering that Pulis only manages a 20% win ratio.......?
I don't believe this article tbh lads.. I long for the day when he does actually say SOD IT and LEAVES. It can not come a day too soon. He's .......... up and he's knows it! Will he actually leave I doubt it personally. RE the Sentinel last night he said Charlie Adam is not yet over the death of his father? That may be so but... WHY is it he can play or is selected for SCOTLAND and PULIS say's " A game or two might be good for him" He's NOT starting games for STOKE CITY F.C. Beyond comprehension CLUELISS. Just GO!
For me Potts, if Adam is struggling with the loss of his father and it is affecting his performances, I think its a breach of trust that TP should paster that all over the press!

Reports in the morning press alleged Pulis was ready to quit City after becoming disillusioned by their dip in league form and a lack of financial backing by the club's owners. Pulis has insisted he has a close relationship with chairman Peter Coates and his family - and defended the amount of money they have pumped into the Staffordshire club. "On transfer fees and money spent on the first team, nobody can question the Coates family on the amount of money they have invested in this football club," he said. Tony Pulis "Anybody who says anything else is being disrespectful to a family that should be held in high esteem. "As I have said before, my relationship with Peter is not just a football relationship, but a personal relationship as well. I class him as a friend, and I mean a friend." Pulis also dismissed suggestions he was at odds with the club's hierarchy over the Stoke City Academy because it was draining resources from first-team affairs. "I have got reservations on the way it is run, yes, but every football club that is successful up and down the country has to have a vibrant and progressive youth policy," he added. "It was me who brought in Denis Smith and Alan Durban into our Academy, to get more people with a football background and a local knowledge involved."
Smither's I've just read through the link above and all of that below it! He really does not get it does he? NO ONE has EVER questioned "The Coates family or Mr Coates and the FACT he has kindly put money into S.C.F.C. It's a FACT we've all said THANKYOU more than once for what he has given financially. It's the CNUT in the CAP who is to blame.. You could not make this up.. it gets worse by the day. I'm GOOD friends with the family etc? So let's get this straight. The Coates family give Clueliss well in excess of 100 MILLION quid and we're looking right now at a relegation battle. YET no one at SCFC seem's to mention this FACT with only 8 games to play. We could (God forbid) still go down the toilet. Even last night Mr Coates was in effect (pleading with fans to back the club) and renew season tickets which I think? Stood at 22,000 last season. I would love to ask Mr Coates one question which is. Are you actually worried, concerned atually that bothered IF the WORST happened. We would no doubt lose our (better player's) What i would give to ask him face to face. I suppose given his wealth he may well just say, That's life. NO it isn't it's OUR FOOTBALL CLUB WHICH IS Stoke City F.C. and without us (the fans) you have NO CLUB. Rant over.
But the cracks are still showing if you read the article............. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ts-he-is-considering-his-future-at-Stoke-City Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has blasted newspaper stories claiming he is considering his future at the Britannia Stadium.
