Gives me a warm smug feeling even tho we are down in the third tier. Maybe a derby next seson.

He's such a whiney bloke though.

Especially in front of the camera. He's worse than Mourinho.

Not that I give much of a **** what goes on up the road.

If its so bad then he should resign.

If you believe what you read, Fat Mike offered him to the Spanish FA when they sacked their manager just before the World Cup

Sounds like they're in a pretty dark place considering they're in the prem and the season kicks off soon and you'd expect to be full of optimism. I suppose that's the effect Ashley has more often than not.

I think he did an unspectacular but solid job managing them last season. They didn't throw investment at it, but they weren't in danger of going down.

Fat Mike looks like he's going to take the piss this season, wanting more of the same while he pockets the Premier League / Sky income

    Rafa should walk

Just been watching on Sky, they’ve made a £45 million profit on transfers under Rafa, and he’s got them up and kept them up.

Then you look at Fulham and Wolves looking like top 10 teams and you can understand his concern.

It’s not pretty for them, only Cardiff and Huddersfield look safe bets to finish below them, it’s one of the strongest Premier Leagues there’s been this year.

    Fully understand why he’s fuming.

I think the offer was only a temporary basis to help them out due to the odd Lopetegui situation

5/1 looks quite generous for them to be relegated. If they get off to a poor start and Rafa walks, they could implode with that **** heap of a squad they've got.

If I wanted to keep a proven PL manager, I wouldn't wanted him even remotedly distracted by the possibility of another job, especially the managership of his own national team

There’s a solid first 11 in there with no goals, they’ll be alright if they get a goalscorer in.

Daft thing is, Mitrovic will likely score at that level for Fulham now that he’s found his feet in England, and the solution they are looking at is Rondon, who’s a handful, a good player, but doesn’t score goals. It’s the cycle of North East football we’ve had the **** run and are seemingly on the rise, they have hit another rut.

I wonder why nobody wants to buy them, enemies they may be but surely that’s a great club and investment for someone? Better than Wolves, Forest, Villa who’ve all found new investment. It’s baffling.

    Just watched that as well.

The guy should walk. It's almost like he's enjoying the public humiliations.

He'd get another good job inside a week.

Well, this is true but then I reckon Ashley is arrogant enough to think he'd get away with it. After all, he's kept Benitez so far. Including at the end of his initial contract when Rafa was practically begging other clubs to come and offer him a contract.

Lots of teams have to operate on a shoe string. With 54k screaming geordies who hang on that negative ****ers every word then too right things won't go right on and off the pitch and it's Rafas own doing. Should just get on with it instead of moaning. He knew what club he was joining. They spend in spurts but often the door is closed for strengthening. Shame he couldn't have spent the 100+ million he's already spent(in only 5 windows) on incomings better. 64m of which he spent on **** Championship team.

They deserve everything they get. Hanging on the word of that fool, a bang average manager who spreads turmoil on his own if doesn't get spends. The man is poison and the fan base thick as pig ****e. All their attitudes stink so let them be their own downfall. They'll only blame Mike thus never learn. :emoticon-0136-giggl

I think Rafa has made them players go a bit above their levels. I'm not sure a new man coming in would be able to get as much out of them.

Newcastle are a huge club, you have to think it's down to Ashley demanding so much as to the reason for not selling. Surely if somebody had the cash it was that Amanda chick and her investors that were in talks last year.

I don't, he's spent 110m building that squad. Newcastle aren't a club who is going to give him 40m every season, he knew what kind of club it was when he walked in and the likes of Pardew would have loved the sort of funds he's received. Nah, I don't get it. He's had a damn sight more to spend than many of his predecessors in the meantime they'll still getting finances back on track after Tufty's spending and the cost of relegation so I think he's been very lucky to get that 110m which is loads for 5 windows, still in this financial climate.
