Our man Marcello Trotta sticks another one in for Wycombe in the first minute of their game against Exeter. That makes it 4 in 4, what a player he looks. Hopefully he can do it for us in the not so distant future!
You beat me to it Fulhamireland, don`t want to make to much of his performances yet, But did post some reviews last year about the potential of both Trotta & Frei.
Jol is definitely looking upon him to make the jump some time soon. The team fielded today has future...
Give him time. He is getting better and better with practice. He is probably a good championship striker at the moment. Not quite what we need yet. I say loan him to a championship team.
There can be a very fine line between being a fine Championship player and a good Premier League player. Look at the likes of Darren Bent for example who came from Ipswich in the Championship. Can any of us honestly say we would prefer Sa to start ahead of Trotta?
Leave him at Wycombe, or loan him to a good championship side till the end of season and take it from there.
I wouldn't mind seeing him in the first team. There's no better place to learn your trade than in the first team in the premiership although if he's playing at a lower level he'll score more goals and grow in confidence. I'm sure Wycombe will want to keep him until the end of the season if they have realistic hopes of staying up. He won the game for them today with his goals so I can see them wanting him until the summer.
Neither Briggs or Frei were loaned to Championship teams, and both have done well in the Premier League when called upon. I say get him back when his loan spell ends in January and unleash him.
Let him stay with us for the season please chaps. His confidence can only grow with matches played and goals scored. He does look to be a very, very good prospect though.
I am delighted by this lad's performances. Let's leave him at Wycombe for the rest of the season - it can only do him good. But we seem to have the real deal here.
I said before he moved to Wycombe I'd like to see him go to a play-off challenging Championship team, but again it is more important for him to get game time, build confidence, and score goals, so may be he will stay at Wycombe, but why only give him an extension for a month and not for the rest of the season ? If we are going to get some new strikers in January then I would suspect that his loan period would be extended, but I'm no loan expert, so are there any rules that say the amount of clubs he can be loaned to in one season. I would suspect he can't be loaned to another Division one club ? but can he be loaned to a Championship team ?
I don't think a player can play for 3 clubs in the same season so if he comes back and we play him he can't be loaned out again. I think the reason it was extended for just a month was because the transfer window wasn't open so they were restricted to a month. I can see it being extended to the rest of the season if we sign another striker or two but if not we should keep him around.
I've been to the Wycombe forum and the guys absolutely love him, they seem to have come up with chants about his big willy, so maybe there's a bit too much love. The Exeter manager speaking after their 3-1 defeat to Wycombe said Trotta was the main difference between the two sides. Promising.
As it is a youth loan there is no limit on how long he can stay with WWFC. Normally loans can only be extended to 93 days if they are not season long loans.
I say get him back - he looks as though he already has bags of cofidence. As you can see from his hat trick of goals here - http://http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16341689.stm
