It's not the management news I wanted but at least we have someone who hopefully isn't a complete liability to steady the ship when Slade is sacked.
 
Either this appointment will keep Slade in situ for a few more months or Trollop has been parachuted in to be the caretaker manager in the likliehood that results continue on their present course. Hopefully the latter but who knows what is going on in our dysfunctional boardroom.

I think it's actually erectile dysfunction as much as anything - nobody's hard enough to shaft the bastard.
 
There was a WoL article earlier this week about a coaching appointment but could be a backstop if Slade falls or is pushed onto his sword.

Just hope the sword is long enough to take Young with him!!!
 
I mentioned yesterday that Villa fans were in the same boat as us but whilst their board has acted by doing the obvious, ours has not.

Steve Tucker in the WM today quite rightly said a club can change the team it can change the man charged with overseeing the team. if it isn't broken then don't mend it; well it clearly is knackered.

If City don't win one of their next 2 games surely he has to go to give City a fighting chance of getting the 18 or so points still needed.
 
He should have gone before now - only the hope that he could bring it together with the January window imports has saved him this long.

Buggar the rest of this month, if we lose to Blackburn next Tuesday, he must go.
 
In fairness, the Villa fans have wanted Lambert out for quite some time. It took the drop into the bottom 3 to make it happen.

I hope VT et al make the decision we need before we fall to that depth.

I notice from the bbc article that this coach is championship / league 1 level. Looks like the club has now decided on our natural position in the football world.
 
He's been appointed as Head Coach. Bit more information here:

What exactly is his role I wonder. A Head coach can mean anything these days. Will he replace Young alongside Slade on match days? Will he even be given responsibility to pick the team and make adjustments to tactics during the game? Could this appointment mean that Slade is to be moved upstairs? Things couldn't be made any worse but unless he is given some direct involvement in team selection and tactics the appointment will be a complete waste of time.
 
Trollop has to be seen as a change for the better.

There was certainly more shape about the team v Blackburn.

Whether that can translate into clean sheets, and goals (other than from set pieces) is open to conjecture.
