QPR good news on injury front ahead of Burnley clash

QPR expect a trio of players to return in time to face Burnley tomorrow.

Midfielder Joey Barton was out on the Harlington training pitch Friday morning, as was Jermaine Jenas and Nedum Onuoha.

The hat-trick comeback has softened the blow of losing top striker Charlie Austin for the rest of the season with a damaged shoulder and right-back Danny Simpson, out for the forseeable future with a back problem.

Defender Aaron Hughes beat the midday deadline for registration, but forward Kevin Doyle’s arrival may come a bit too late to get the Wolves man line up for the clash with the Clarets.

Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson will almost certainly form the spearhead to try and pierce Burnley’s defence, with Onuoha filling the spot vacated by Simpson, and Hughes added to the bench.

Barton is likely to regain his spot in the middle at the expense of Karl Henry – even though the latter scored what turned out to be the winner in the 2-1 victory over Bolton on Tuesday.

Boss Harry Redknapp reckoned his team would have to be extra vigilant to snuff out Burnley's scoring threat of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes.

“Bot of them are a handful as they’ve shown,” he said, “and Burnley are a tough team ready to provide a tough test.”

I'm pretty sure that is not official, I doubt they will know how long he will be out until he has the op, he will be out for a couple of months at least but will hopefully be back for the run in!

Wouldn't be surprised if that's not the case, you are probably looking at 3 months minimum with that type of injury following surgery......

They say rest of the season but then it gives the club a huge lift if he comes back early. contrast that with saying hed be back in april and then finding out hes done for the season then.

Sometimes its better to be negative then anything more is a bonus!

Id rather see Hughes start rather than Onuoha in case he does the same injury again.

Same here & Onouha is a far better CB than RB so shouldn't play there unless really has to.
