I know it's not football related but Trigger (Roger Lloyd-Pack) from Fools and Horses has passed away. He was one of the funniest characters from sitcoms I've ever seen. The way he delivered - 'Alright Dave' to Rodney will stay forever. I've just read - 'I think my favourite of his lines was probably when the Nags Head was holding a sweepstake as to the name of Del and Raquel's expected baby. Having surreptitiously grilled Rodney as to the parent preferences, Trig announces to Mike that "if its a girl, they're calling it Sigourney, after the actress, and if its a boy they're calling it Rodney, after Dave" . A sad day.
...actor Roger Lloyd Pack sadly left us today. Some classic lines for him in a classic British program. DEL......I thought you said they were open 24 hours? TRIGGER....yeh, but not at night! RIP...
I loved watching Trigger, great comedy character.
Not too boast, but there isn't a single thing I don't know about Only Fools and Horses, I grew up watching everyday as I got ready for school on boxset VHS. I can recite every episode (barring the last 3) word for word without fail. Many have tested my knowledge, and all have failed. This is such a shame, he honed in the character of Trigger to total perfection, and can only ever imagine him being a lovely man in real life from the few occasions I have met him at a couple of conventions when I was a kid. One of my favorite ever scenes in OFAH below... Not the complete scene, but part of it... Trigger being the star!
Every single time I show holiday photos to someone, or from my travels, I point to myself and say "That's me, there" in homage to that scene onefor!
Sad. especially as some of scenes with Trigger in, were from Ashton Gate park! almost a Bristol sitcom apart from the accents???
Roger Lloyd Pack, here's to you for playing the much loved character "TRIGGER" so well. R.I.P. Roger aka Trigger. By the way............my name is "Rodney" but to my friends, it's "Dave"!!!!!!!
Some years before only fools and horses was ever seen on tv......an old chap who visit brandon hill (where I was working) regulary, always called me Dave, no matter how many times I told him my name was Rodney!
A wonderfully funny man who made me laugh just by seeing him and his usual target of Rodney is the spitting image of my brother Dave and of course my brother is always called Rodney. R.I.P. my friend and thank-you for the fits of howling laughter that you provided in my life. Never to be forgotten.
