Masky is out to find Treorchy tomorrow as he continues his valley's expeditions of discovery. Anyone recommend any particular places of interest? Dai, Aber anyone? :emoticon-0103-cool:

hiya masky dude tbh im not sure of the rhondda in the same way dai would so he would be your best bet with treorchy(even tho just over the mountain from me) and whats left from the industrial days, if its anything like my valley then it been knocked down closed down and painted over with some fine looking roundabouts.....the best thing up my way these days are the mountains walks and mountain bike routes other than that the drugs are not that bad either.>>>hey bro joking aside if your up my way I`ll show you the sights and smells of Aberdare and its linking villages and history..........<ale>

Thanks Aber, I used to know Aberdare a bit, used to do an annual half marathon from The Michael Sorbell Sports Centre, and Abercynon races! I have had a calling to see Treorchy before I kick the bucket first!:emoticon-0103-cool:

The Prince used to be a big Cardiff pub but not sure if it is still open. The lion seems to be the party pub these days. Not much of interest really just an average Rhondda town. If you are looking for some historical sights there's St. Peter's church in Pentre and the Parc and Dare Hall Treorchy.

Many happy times in Treorchy in my younger days.

Best things in Treorchy is the library and Parc & Dare Hall.

Not bad shopping in the high street a few pubs. The Stag and The Lion are good.
