Great news as he could easily have walked out for a free/payday this summer. He really deserves this, as he has been the surprise of the season for me....so pleased he proved me wrong when Vorm went out. A great squad player who waited patiently for his time, and then really delivered. If players dont know it's a squad game, then we move them on. These contract extensions just show the players are happy with the club, their role and our future path.
I have to put my hands up and say i got it wrong with him. I thought he was very dodgy at first and didnt inspire me at all considering his rather large frame. Maybe having a number of games allowed him to get settled . He has benifited greatly from Ash and Chico being so good and while he has a weakness low down to his left he has been fantastic overall. West ham could have been nasty if it wasnt for Tremmel and i also notice he has started to come off his line alot more than he used to, confidence is growing with him thats for sure. The good thing is that Vorm has to be on his game 100% and thats something i thought he lacked a bit at the start of the season, there were saves he should have made but didnt and there was a slightly lazy feel about some of his performances. Tremmel has now raised the bar higher and that could only be good for us. Well done to him,he has proven the doubters wrong of which i was one! he has earned this deal, so good on Tremmel..the latest jack bast@rd !!
It's good news that he's committed himself to the club. Now to get Sir Mike to sign a new contract. I do like it when we get player all signed up, gives a nice feeling inside.
Great news - it's always good when you have two top keepers competing for a start. Blowing my own trumpet again (yes I know, Norway!) I was the only poster who said that you were all prematurely judging Tremmel because it was only based on one game. He has an excellent pedigree, though I must admit even I'm surprised at how well he's done. All he has to work on is his distribution which is still not great.
Yes agree KJ you were indeed fighting his corner (no pun intended) he has a major weakness which is down to his left,conceeded a few from there since he been between the sticks, but they all have faults in their games thats why they ply for swansea not man utd.
