Oh for heavens sake - get a life, not a set of small minded prejudices! What the hell is this sort of drivel doing on a football forum?

Tell me about it, one of the biggest camps in the country is 5 minutes from me. Well I say camp, it's a village, theres over 2000 of them. I'll never forget them re enacting mission impossible whilst robbing the phone box outside my mates house.

Exactly. Where are the mods when you need them ? This thread should be deleted.

Unless of course they set up camp @ the KC then maybe a thread would be appropriate.

People who tell others to get a life are exactly the sort who should follow their own advice.

What is small-minded about objecting to a bunch of people who contribute nothing but expect the law-abiding others to pay for them and call themselves travellers but don't actually travel? They ignore planning applications whereas the authorities come down like a ton of bricks on everyone else, the police daren't pull them up about uninsured, untaxed vehicles whilst pouncing on everyone else for every minor driving related matter.

And don't bring racism into it. There is a difference between so-called travellers and proper ethnic Roma.

tenuous link alert!! Hull City's training ground is 2 miles down the road from Hull's very own 'Diddycoy Central'. Try and do your shopping in Co-Op on a Saturday morning without tripping over pram-wheels in the entrance.

I don't recall the people complaining about this non football related post complaining on all the other ones that are OT on these forums. Remove this one and they all would need removing.

I made a bad attempt at sarcasm on the thread about the song writer and was moaned at, I dont recall any of you on here backing me up. Not that you should, it was a poor attempt at being funny by me which was never going to work on a forum...

Back on topic though, I think the majority of people who stick up for these non tax paying leeches, don't have any living near them. They want all their "rights" and access to public services that they're not actually prepared to contribute to, hence the hostility to them.

I forgot to add that this isn't just a Hull City Football Forum, its a community of people who discuss all sorts of things but, generally, have a common interest in the mighty Tigers. Tis a rich mixed bag of people from all sorts of social levels and areas, with views from the far left to the far right and back to can't be arsed with all that.

It's great as it is, in the words of the Grimsby Manager, if you don't like it, fook off! :)

amberosia - im sure many on here would agree with you but the majority are not complaining about the reason behind this article or its content but more why it has suddenly popped up, unprovoked, on a football forum of all places?

Madhog - i agree about other non football related topics but this has a political and social undercurrent which i don’t think has a place on these boards, anything that could start revealing peoples political persuasions should be deleted as it generally brings out the worse in people

Freddie Eastwood came from a travelling family I believe (I think he's on Coventrys books). It would be interesting to know of any other sporting success storys from the travelling community ?

Im of the opinion if you dont like the thread after reading the opening post, then go back and dont revisit it.

I agree with the opening post but would like to know what made WhittlingStick post it

Oh believe me, there's been far worse on here Fad...I sort of agree that politics are best not discussed on forums, but they will be, and some people will end up looking like total arses, but I also tend to take the view that its good to know who the arses are.

I think Jose Reyes was from a travelling community or from romani heritage because that racist Spanish coach (his name I cant remember) got into hot water after making remarks calling him a gyppo or something, said something like Gyppo’s are marginally better than n*****s or something awful like that.
