Just out of interrst we all stated how we was getting there yesterday, but how did it go? I left at 9:30am yesterday, but did not get to the stadium till 3 so a total of 5:30 travelling. That was including the jams at Reading services where the record for the longest que to toilets must have been beaten. We got to Heathrow about 12 so not a bad trip up and roads were busy with roadworks and amount of scarfs to be seen on the journey. Then it just decended into crawling along till the bottle neck just by the stadium. But got there in time, the booked carpark for me was full, but diverted to another where it was so easy to get out, which turned out to be lucky as others were held up by Heathrow - Slough for 2 hours. Great day out anyway, even if I missed the second goal, but when the goal went in, the noise that was heard from the the ground into the converserse was fantastic. And we all ran to nearest entrances to see the celebration was funny to see. Also the older man, telling me they wanted 20p for a pee in Wembley station was hilerious when he said "we had the last laugh, we all shared the same cubicle"
Well in the end I was forced to get the coach so wasn't too happy about that but meant I could drink so not all bad! How wrong I was. Was told by the club my coach would leave at 9am. Got there at 8 (left my ticket in the taxi but luckily remembered just as he drove down the road), had a breakfast had my first can of thatchers then made my way to the coach at half 8. Only then to be told it hasn't left the coach depot yet.... So all the coaches that were suppose to leave at 9 did apart from mine and a few others. The farce continued.... The woman organising everything said our coach is running late and will now leave at 10! So I was stood about for 2 ****ing hours down there. It eventually came and it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes to get to the ground. WAS going to go in Crystals but by the time we got there it was packed and had a gert big dirty queue! so thought **** that, had a little walk around, took some pics then headed in! Got to my seat, sat down and then possibly the worst part of the day happened! Some people wanted to get past to sit in their seat so I stood up, then when I put my seat down there must have been a bottle of water in the row behind and it has tipped all over my seat, I wasn't aware and when I sat down my whole ass was ****ing soaked! I asked my mate how bad it was and it was everywhere, all down my legs up my t shirt and of course the ass region! So to avoid further embarrassment I had to sit in my seat all game and all after the celebrations. Luckily it had dried a bit when we left! Coming back wasn't so bad, got on the coach at 6 and was home by 9 but did hear there was an accident on the M4 and quite a few people got stuck behind it.... Woke up more tired than before I went to bed though! but who cares WE WON!!!!
Left at 9, got to Croxley tube station by 11.15, tube into the ground by 11.45, couldn't have gone any easier! Same on the way back, the tube train to Croxley was dead so we managed to get a seat despite staying to watch the trophy celebrations, shame about the crash on the M4 though!
All went to plan for me....except the crash near Slough on the way back....that put about 45 mins to an hour on my journey home to Walesland. We were in Basildon in Essex on the Saturday so traveled to Rickmansworth just off the m25 to meet up with my brother and his son then it was a Weatherspoon full breakfast at about 11o'clock and a pint or two. Tube into Wembley park then another pub for a more drink and a sing song, then on to the stadium. The crowd back to the station was controlled very well it has to be said and there was no pushing or shoving at all on the station. Tube back to Rickmansworth then a slow plod home until we got past the traffic jam.....not too bad an experience tbf
left Bristol coach station at 8 on National Express arriving at 10:20 Did plan to take the kids to the natural history museum but as we drove past the queues were hugh so decided to walk from Victoria to Buckingham Palace and Big Ben as the kids have never seen them before, Tube up to Baker Street for some food, kept getting bothered by street peddlers trying to sell me a half and half scarf Then tube up from Baker street to Wembley park. A bit of hassle afterwards trying to get on the train back towards central London, lost the misses at one point (she was not amused) alot of people pushing. Half 8 Coach back wasn't bad, hit heavy traffic coming out of London, The driver did put his foot down once it had cleared up and was in a taxi by 11:15 Kids loved it and want to know when we are playing at Wembley again The misses who isn't into football enjoyed it too
Train from Westbury left an time with plenty of City fans and arrived Paddington five minutes early. A ten minute walk to Marylebone station and train to Wembley Stadium station arriving bang on 1 pm. So plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere, have some banter with a few Saddlers and then to a relatively comfortable win against a side with little scoring power. It was good to meet up with Invermere Mike and his lovely wife. Have a safe journey back to Canada. The atmosphere was OK but not extraordinary. Would have been better if Walsall had troubled us. Got the first train back to Marylebone, a very gentle walk to Paddington for an hours wait til my train. Sat with a Reading fan on the train so had a good natter about the wider football scene. After that most of the (cider drinking) City fans were asleep ana quiet hour til arrival on time at Westbury. Got back home to a lovely glass of red wine and some cheese and crackers from the "wench". Isn't it good being a City fan at the moment!
8:35 or w/e to paddington from parkway bloody packed then walked to marylebone no point trying to go via tube 11:09 to wembley hit f&B for breakfast left about 1pm then went and had a mooch around and then into the stadium bout 20 past 2. way back ended up on the 19:00 to swansea got home at around 9 plenty of room suprisingly quite a few reserved seats with no one in them
I went by Bakers Dolphin and had a driver who really knew his way about . Having noticed the delays on the M25 /m4on the way back he zoomed up the M40 and down the A4. My son who who is a courier was purring. Great day out and what a wonderful stadium but PA system is crap
**** by the sounds of it, it was only me and Shiny who had a nightmare and he got to the ground quicker than but leaving later Glad everyone had a great time, and the wench fed you Cidered.
Smooth as a babys bum 8:30 from parkway to paddington reserved seats When into paddington to costa for drinks. Then tube to wembley for sit down meal and frankie and bennys 12:00pm left at 2.40pm and walked up wembley way to our seats. Watched game and stayed for 30 minutes after the game to watch the celabrations. Tube back to paddington, line 8 train back to parkway home by 8:20pm job went so smooth. Never ever go on a coach we got to the stoke game 20 minutes late and that was a official coach. They could not run a piss up in a brewary.
Took a minibus with 14 on, mixed ages, had a breakfast at The Maes knoll in Whitchurch and left about 9.30am easy enough journey up but last 7 miles was crawling traffic got there at 1pm about and then had a little trouble finding our pre paid parking (lots about for £10!) but got out had a few beers around the place and a quick bet. got in the ground for 3pm. Stayed for the presentation and wandered back to the van, got caught in the smash traffic on the m4 but managed to get off the motorway and drove down a junction to Maidenhead, it was clear from there! Good day and picked up a few quid on Flint to score the first goal (16/1)
