If I can get a ticket for the Fulham game on Monday I'm keen to come up from Surrey to see PDC's new team in action. In order not to get home too late I have to catch the 17.29 to KingsX from Sunderland station. How likely is it that I could get to the station by that time on a match day? From my memory of going to Newcastle Road Baths it should be ok but what's it like on match day? And are taxis available at the ground or would it be quicker to walk?
You'll be ok to walk mate, i would suggest leaving just before full time though, barring any major stoppages
i normally get out just before 5, that would give you loads of time to walk over the bridge to the train station
Loads of time to catch a train that time mate..No need to leave early either as it is only about a 15-20 minute walk to the station..
Definitely walk, no probs. Just wait until the clock hits 90 minutes then slowly walk down the steps...watch the dying minutes at the exit then hi tale it out of there...always works for me ;-)
got my match ticket, got my train ticket and I'm in training for the power walk to the station after the game. Can't wait.
Not even a power walk mate, takes longer to get out the stadium than to walk to the station, assuming your not a leave early charlie (winds me right up, by the way....). It's 10 mins once you get out the SOL, max, as it's just over the bridge and cut across, the train station is one of the first things you come to in town.
PDC effect, are you crazy or what ? Advising people to leave early when we already have enough of the part time supporters that stream out before the final whistle , they should be ashamed of themselves but you are even worse than them advising a stranger to do it, pull your head in man.
Leisurely stroll goggly! No massive rush as it's not that far! Just enjoy the game, drink in the victorious full time atmosphere (Hopefully!) and wander over there. You won't be on your own BC - You can only really say that to people who leave early simply to miss traffic or some stupid reason. I have left early in the past but only because I had to get to work in some far reaching place! It's not fair to tar all of the people leaving early with the same brush as some do have specific reasons - by all means say this to those who don't but not those who do - I have left early (only a couple of times) but only because of specific reason - this doesn't make me a part timer!
Was a guy at Roker Park used to shout 'what you leaving early for you got a paper round'. Every match. Cracked me up like, as a young pup.
I'll check how long I take to walk to the ground to see if I need to leave early. I've no wish to upset anybody but if you see someone with prosthetic legs leaving the west stand early don't be too judgemental.
