    The story so far.......

The Post has tried to organise a public debate between Councillors / Green Party / TRASH vs Charlotte Leslie / Higgs.

In response....... Councillors tell Higgs he is 'irrelevant' to the Judicial Review debate: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/238394-Councillors-tell-Higgs-he-is-‘irrelevant’-to-JR-debate

In response....... Higgs issues a statement showing his anger / frustration: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...rs-saying-he-is-‘irrelevant’-to-the-JR-debate

Today, TRASH has issued a statement in response to Higgs, its says:

Having a debate about a matter that is the subject of a JR is pointless and futile.........................So let's not discuss the subject of the Judicial Review because that is what our protest legally consists of and we might lose the argument. (as we know they will)

Proposing to hold it in a pub, is completely inappropriate........................Please locate a large enough TRASH can where we can all sit and stink in an appropriate manner.

We are quite prepared to debate the merits of the Sainsbury's Horfield proposal ................. We insist that only discussions which have been discussed and rejected by the majority will be the subject of any debate

indeed we have wanted to discuss these issues right from the outset.......................as you all know ad nauseum.

Such a debate should be at an appropriate venue and with a senior representative from Sainsbury’s board of directors and include both Ward councillors.......................................all of whom should feel appropriately disadvantaged in the venue of our choice.

They can then explain why they wish to destroy the independent character of the Gloucester Road...............please do not change things for the better FFS we are the Green Party and our No;1 principle is to shudder at the thought of change.

“the jewel in Bristol’s crown”..........please stop laughing, we are trying to booster the run down area's importance in order to get our own way.

why they want to inflict unprecedented traffic congestion on to the residents ..................why they want to improve the traffic flow, by reducing the traffic along Gloucester Road because shoppers will no longer need to use that thoroughfare by going into Sainsbury's car park at the top end..

and why they wish to destroy air quality in the vicinity of the site........................as there will be less traffic those who live there (not all of us) and their children will suffer withdrawal symptoms from the lack of carbon monoxide available from them to breath.

In the absence of such a proposal we are continuing our grassroots fund raising efforts within the local community...................perhaps we should rephrase that and not use the word grassroots as we are trying not expose our affinity to the Green Party who have donated the majority of the cash for our fund. It looks better if we promote the generous dedication of those 6500 who signed the petition; £16000 raised so far divided by 6,500 on the petition meaning an average of less than £2.50 each per person

and talk of a debate is just a distraction." ...............please stop asking for a debate as every time we are in direct public discussion with our opponents they make us sound like complete arseholes!!!

Since when has the top end of Glos Rd been the jewel in Bristols crown <yikes>

I almost purchased a property there a few years back, if the area has become the premier place to be I'm ****ing gutted, could have made a killing.
