Morning Guys, I've heard lots of reports this morning that Trapattoni may well be sacked after the poor performance of the ROI in the qualifiers. The Irish FA would look to would be Hughton I think after dabbling with a foreign manager, like we did with Crappelo......I personally hope he doesn't go if offered the job but I know it would please some on here. What does everyone think?
Chris Hughton still shown at 28/1 as the most likely next manager to leave,so the odds don't support the theory.Surely it would be a step down?

Totally agree, can´t see him being tempted at all, International management has become a sort of retirement home activity for the elderly, would suit Martin O´Neill perfectly, and he has to be hot favourite if the job does come up.
hughton is, by a considerable distance, the stand out candidate, but he's also on a decent deal at norwich and i don't think ireland will pay compensation, nor do i think he would leave norwich with the club run the way it is. this isn't paul lambert we're talking about here. o'neill and keane are free agents and i believe i'm right saying that mccarthy has a clause in his contract where he can leave ipswich for nothing if ireland come calling. i don't think we need to worry (or celebrate in carrabuh's case) about losing hughton - he's our long term boss.
The ages may be relevant, Hughton is 54 O'Neil is 61 McCarthy is 54 Keane is 42. If you were looking short term maybe O'Neil(but he has history of "walking") Keane and McCarthy are both loose cannons (Speak before the brain is in gear) I know we all believe that Hughton is settled and happy here, but we thought the same with Walker and Lambert. The reality is,it's only a job,and if the offer is good enough he will go.
The general rumblings are that he had a clause up until the summer where if ROI came calling he could leave us with no fuss whatsoever, however that has expired with the passing of the summer off season and by all accounts they would now have to pay us compensation to take him off us.. He has said that he'd love to go back to manage ROI one day and seems to be a favourite there given his previous successes, but he went on record saying he was in no hurry to get back, just that he'd love to manage them again someday.... but who knows if the opportunity would come up again so I think most town fans consider him going as a strong possibility if Trap were to be shown the door...
Trappatoni's contract only runs to the end of the RoI's WC campaign, so it isn't a question of him being sacked, just not having his contract renewed. I would say he has done about as well as you would expect given the resources at his disposal. Good, experienced manager, but like Capello with England, probably couldn't believe how lacking in quality even the best of what he had to work with are/were.
I can't see how the ROI would be able to get Chris from us, he's in a relatively strong position with us and our tragectory is upwards i think they'll go for o'neill or Mick Mcarthy
No idea, but a rolling contract sounds like the sort of thing McNally would organise - or was that just a McNally/Lambert thing?

The beeb reported a three-year contract when we appointed him, which, if true, would mean until June 2015
When he replaced Lambert in June 2012, the BBC reported he had signed a 3-year contract. [Oops, as gandy just said! ]
Yeah I thought it included a one year option, which our board seems to love. Looking at that list, it is bonkers that two of the managers under a lot of pressure (Pardew and Moyes) are on very long contracts!
The only poster I've ever tried to put on my ignore list is myself -- and the damn thing won't let me do it.
I wouldn't rule out Hughton goin to Ireland one day but he has a lot more club management to do first.
