Its a bit of an awkward subject to broach though. How do you tell an athlete that she has to take a gender test before competing without completely destroying their confidence & totally embarrassing them in public? I think you've just got to look at Castor Semenya example to see it isn't easy to do these tests privately or without ruining the person you are questioning.
It should be the rules that if you are transgender you need to declare it. Or they could change the rules that you need to take a medical and prove you are biologically female\male. Simple test. The safety of female competitiors is an issue here. That fight proved that. Men have much more strength, men that train MMA have even more.
