Its not that long ago under MON that rumours were circulating that some of the players he had at previous Clubs ( e.g. McGeady, Milner, Downing) might be transfer targets for SAFC. If contact has previously been made and moves were genuinely possible, would PDC be interested in them? Or will he go for altogether different players, perhaps some that are better value for money?
Bearing in mind the temporary nature of his tenure with us has he in fact had an opportunity yet to identify who he wants and put out feelers? Maybe he can only get to work on transfer targets when our Premiership safety (?) is assured. Might it be January before we see PDC's influence on arrivals?

Pop will have just continued with his scouting assignments with reports available to PDC as they were to MoN. Think links with previous MoN players were always lazy jurnos

Has PDC brought any scouts in yet?

Im sure PDC will already have positions and players in mind and if we stay up I think he'll get a canny war chest to play with

PDC is one of the most thorough and clued up mangers I have ever seen and he actually lives and breathes football, I would even say he is a scout himself with all the football he watches and I bet his knowledge of current and up and coming players would be very good.

Obviously he cant do it himself and wasnt Short mentioning our scouting network even when MON was at the helm? I can see this being a big talking point behind the scenes at SAFC at the minute and trying to get it in place ASAP.

Theres no doubt about it we must get better value for money signings and reduce our debt at the same time.

At the same time this will be the REAL test for PDC, hes under no pressure at the minute and came into a no lose situation but has gained massively from it (so far), dont get me wrong though I'm very confident he will deliver under pressure too.

    3-0!!!

Disagree there Dan, he came in under huge pressure! You don't sack your failing manager when your in the relegation zone and bring in someone and tell him that it's ok, there's no pressure. The pressure is immense. And he is flourishing. Its at the times when you're in mid-table mediocrity playing teams around you that the test is. How many times have we failed to beat a team below us, or ones from League 2 in the cups? Thats the test... keeping the players motivated to play those 'lesser' games.

I heard PDC has a strong scouting network in Tukey of all places... expect one of two Arda Turan types (but younger) to come in.
this came from a Swindon town ST holder yesterday.

I think it's fair to say whoever he brings to SAFC is going to be a grafter, I'm not too sure how long Fergie plans to hold his grudge with Sunderland for but I wouldn't mind Nick Powell spending a season under Di Canio to get him fired up.

Great player. With all respects, I dont want to go down the road of loaning players from you. I would rather bring our own through or go for permanent signings, than bring on sombody elses players.

Agree with this. i think his salary would be massively lower if we went down. Also has the chance to be a premiership manager, the last thing he would want was for it to be gone in 6/7 games with no guarantee of getting back up. Stay up and he really has the word at his feet (as a manager) Swindon to Safc, 40,000 plus crowds an ago that belongs pn the biggest stage. ust get the feeling that this is the man to.........................well you know the score.
