Well Monk says that we are all but done for this transfer window, so this is who has come in

Andre Ayew - Free - signing on fee £5.7m
    Kristoffer Nordfeldt - undisclosed
    Franck Tabanou - £3m
    Eder - £5m

So about £15m-£16m spent, as I said in a previous thread that I'd be amazed if we spent more than £20m in this window appears to be borne out. The club is being prudent and not stretching the budget.

Now does this mean that they lack ambition as some were saying as we needed to spend £30m plus to ensure we stay in this league?

The proof will be in the end of season pudding. On paper it looks miserly for a Premier League club to spend so little, but splurging like QPR is no guarantee of quality.

But as a club we have never spent as much money as what people wanted us to spend. For me we have added quality players to the club and done our transfers early because the work on these transfers was done over a period of time. We have avoided a bidding war on all these players.

I agree Jager, it's quality not quantity that counts,we now have paper competition in all positions, bring 8 the new season!

I would have liked another Striker, but that's just me being picky. With the sale of Bony and us spending this modest sum, the balance sheet must be looking healthy Huw! ........... <laugh>

There is a possibility that there will be one more addition to the first team squad, the club still have a couple of irons in the fire. Another signing is far from guaranteed but we may yet see one more coming in.

I am a tad worried about the wages side of things tbh....It's probably nothing to worry about but when you see the way the money has risen in wage increases then its on par with the MP's getting a whopping pay rise and back dated to knowing this lot 1776....<laugh>

Could also argue that Ayew is easily a 10+million signing under contract.

    Goal: Fabianski, Norveldt
    Right Back: Naughton, Rangel
Left Back: Tabanou, Taylor, Kingsley, Hanley
Centre Back: Fernandez, Williams, Bartley, Amat
Midfield: Cork, Fulton, Grimes, Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson
    Widemen: Routledge, Dyer, Montero, Barrow
    Utility: Ayew
    Striker: Eder, Emnes, Gomis

Given the cost involved unless one or two of the above go do we really need any more. Perhaps a third goalie but maybe Zarbert may do the job and possibly another right back. I haven't even listed Leon and Tiendalli who are still with us.

I would agree with you Jäger!

In any event, I can't see Huw paying anything like £8m for Byram.

I am a little concerned about right back coverage because I feel that Naughton and Rangel are more injury prone than our left backs.

Thanks Taff. Flying is not my preferred mod of transport, have flown every year since 1979 until 2006 when we had some bad turbilance on landing, have not flown since until now!!! My lads are very happy I have taken the plunge again...... <laugh>
