Just a thread to throw around ideas of who we would like to see in a town shirt next season (given that we are all but guaranteed safety <ok>)

I'll throw two Brizzle players names into the ring for your consideration...

    Albert Adomah
    Sam Baldock

A pacey & Skillful winger and a pacey and skillful striker

    Seconded.

KOPR, it's not really worth having stickies like these because (in my experience) people like to post their own threads as and when rumours come up. <ok>

A central midfielder who can pull the ball down and find a Town shirt with a forward pass would be nice:tongue:

I'd like us to sign Stearman although hopefully next season we won't be in a relegation scrap so I would prefer a slightly more dynamic RB. I'd sign him primarily as a CB, then we'd have 3 very good CBs for this division. We certainly have good players at the back but only have 5 who are actually contracted to us, so we need some reinforcements back there.

Priority for me is a CM playmaker such as a Garvan/Magilton character, effectively a partner for Hyam, I'm not sure if Wordsworth is already this player, he certainly has great technical ability but we need someone to dominate the midfield, who can actually pass to another Town player. Also need some back up, perhaps Drury will be offered a new contract as he's would be decent enough cover in alot of positions and also I'd imagine fairly cheap. Please a no to N'Daw unless Mick is planning to play a 5 man midfield.

If Martin isn't kept on, we really do need 2 good wingers and I don't include Tabb in that, wouldn't mind us signing him but he's not really a winger. Not sure about Adomah from Bristol, looked to me like alot of pace and power without much end product.

Also if we don't sign Murphy and want to get rid of Chopra I think we'll need 2 players uptop with Nouble, Taylor and McGoldrick. I'd say keep Chopra until we have a suitable replacement by that I mean a poacher who is looking for the ball over the top who plays on the shoulder of the last defender, so maybe yes someone like Baldock. We'd also need another target man IMO, who can hold the ball up, I been impressed with the brief glimpses I've had of Huddersfields Lee Novak.

Although I think strengthening the midfield and attack is more of a priority I think we could probably do with another GK, although I wouldn't be overly concerned if Loach was our No.1 next season.

Lets start with signing Stearman, McGoldrick, Murphy and so on.

I'd still love to see DJ Campbell sign in the summer.

Is that the same McGoldrick whom you gave 1/10 for a recent away performance.?

Think Wordsworth could be the man for that.

Posted in a different thread that I think our priorities should be someone to partner Hyam (possibly Wordsworth) and a replacement goal poacher.

As is being hinted at, a lot of the needed vacancies could be adequately filled from our own ranks, We need well thought-out signings to build the squad with our own players.

Blimey hello Stratton! How have you been keeping?

Hoppers, I believe it's a team effort. Whether I rate McGoldrick or not, there is something in the mix that is successful. You have to reward the sort of success we have had of late.

No ta to Adomah - would cost too much, VERY LITTLE has the end product, however does have pace and can beat players for fun.

Sam Baldock would be a much better proposition. He's been the only bit of quality in a very poor side this season at Ashton Gate.

I'd like to see us get Alan Judge from Notts County. I'm sure he'll leave this summer.

I like baldock. Wasn't judge mentioned as a possible January target by jwm. I'll throw another in the hat who has impressed me on a number of occasions. Adam Rooney.
