well if this is correct them up the road strike first... Newcastle have acquired the services of highly-rated French midfielder Mehdi Abeid, ending his eight year stay at Ligue 1 side Lens. Manager Alan Pardew has signed the 18-year-old on a four-year deal for free, beating off competition from Everton and Atletico Madrid. Abeid has yet to feature for the Lens first team, mainly turning out for their reserve side, but impressed while on trial at St James' Park earlier this month. And the playmaker is hoping to make a big impact in the Premier League with the north East club after leaving his boyhood side. "After eight fantastic years at Lens where I developed into a professional player, I felt now was the right time to change clubs," Abeid told French newspaper L'Equipe. "I had several other offers from France but I think I will do well in England - I have no fears of playing in the Premier League."
I can't believe some of the Liverpool fans. Some are saying he's **** and they don't want him at their club. Obviously, these particular fans have never seen him play, because for me, he is one of the best left backs in the country.
