Striker returns on season-long loan from Celtic Town have completed the signing of Celtic’s Daryl Murphy on a season-long loan deal. The Republic of Ireland international returns to Portman Road for a third loan stay with the Blues, following a successful spell at the Club last season. Daryl, who can play as a striker or as a left-sided midfielder, will join up with his new team-mates tomorrow and could be included in Paul Jewell’s squad for the weekend visit of Huddersfield. “I’m delighted to be back at Ipswich,” Daryl, who was an unused sub for Celtic last night, told the Club website. “All over the summer I was hoping something would get sorted for me to come back here and thankfully that has happened now. “I’ve had a long summer break, around eight or nine weeks, but I’ve kept myself ticking over fitness wise and I’m feeling good. “I'll train with the boys tomorrow, get to know a few of the new faces in the camp and if the manager selects me for the weekend then I’ll be more than ready to get started straightaway.”
