Bournemouth have just signed Afobe for 12m from Wolves. Leaving them now a striker down, they previously showed interest in Clough and now they might go in for him with all the dosh they've just got, but this now leaves the door open for Kermorgant to leave and possibly join us... Think it's fair to say either Clough or Kermorgant will be playing for us come February, or if we're lucky.... Sorry Shiny but I have lost all positivity about this transfer window. Hope I am wrong of course, but who would want to join our relegation battle with the very real possibility of playing League 1 football next season?
Fingers crossed its both but given the choice I really like the look of this Clough and could turn out to be a bargain. All they've really got to do is offer him a clause to say if and that is a if we go down he can leave for x amount which will either be the price paid or less.
sign for 3+years 20/21 clause at end of season 2016/17 can go to a prem club if still in CHAMPS or to club in champs or prem if we are still in the lge 1 ! for 2017/18, the fee double what we pay plus 1 years wages ....
If both came in then that would be amazing. Agard, Wilbs, Kodjia, Clough, Kermorgant & Burns gives us plenty of options up top. Think we'll need 2/3 midfielders, couple of defenders and a back up keeper to tie us over until May. With ROD though, if it has to be one then I hope it's Clough, just for the matter that he's young and improving, so there is always the chance we can make money on him. If we signed Kermorgant you'd feel that we would more than likely be his last big pay check and possibly last club.
kermorgant don't think he is worth a fee.. basically a sub nowadays will very little game time this season 10 appearances mostly as sub and scored 1 goal against Hartlepool HARDLY INSPIRING SUBBED AFTE 67 MINS
I know we need a striker, but we also need strengthening in other areas, so would doubt/hope that we wouldn't get 3 strikers in in this window ( these 2 and Garita) at the expense of midfield and defence. Given our current position, I feel Clough is too young to be effective this season, so would be one for the future, Kermongent on loan would add experience until the end of the season, we need prolific and proven right now, not potential and past it!! I can't help but feel that these 2, and Garita are squad fillers rather than thrillers!!
Not done so bad for Bolton this season...Garita is a bonus .... Kermorgant ... be about the same as Wilbs, a nippy short player is what we need.. but also a mid and defender
