Think we all know we need a solid keeper and a striker with a physical presence but who is there who can fit the bill? Lenny didn't seem too confident on the keeper situation in the interview I saw published today which may mean we have Forster in the background to increase the bidding on and there are a few other keepers we have been mentioned with. But what about strikers? Most are in agreement with the type of striker we need but not really heard anyone mention any names. Personally I see Stokes & Hooper as the 2 upfront & would like us to play 4-4-2 most games with the exception of tough european games with Hooper & Commons behind, but we need something different to throw off the bench to change the game & for that reason I can't see us shelling out much cash unless we grab ourselves a bargain. If anyone has any suggestions let me know as I can't put my finger on anyone.
I'm confident Lenny will get the necessary people in. For a few years we needed a left back but neither wgs or mogga did anything. Lenny sorted that. There will be plenty of movement just before the transfer window shuts. Personally, I wouldn't mind having Forster back. As for a striker, not too sure. Id rather we spent money on Connor Salmon rather than murphy. I dont think salmon would get bullied and we would have weighed in with a few goals. A bit sad though that that level is where we might need to look for players.
How is Sammon getting on at Wigan? Has he been playing? Could be worth an enquiry. Venom - never heard of the ****.
He's a goalie. In the Polish national team at 21. Can't be any worse than Zaluska/Cervi<vernonkayefacemuir>
Celtic boss confirms interest in Grzegorz Sandomierski The Poland international keeper is one of a number of targets in Neil Lennon's bid to recruit a new number one. 04 August 2011 14:43 GMT Comment Grzegorz Sandomierski is a transfer target for Celtic, with Neil Lennon expressing an interest in the goalkeeper. Pic: ©Roger Goraczniak Neil Lennon has confirmed he has an interest in signing Polish goalkeeper Grzegorz Sandomierski. Celtic are in the market for a new number one, with last campaign’s number one Fraser Forster returning to Newcastle United at the end of last season at the end of a loan spell. Lennon is keen to bring in a new keeper to feature ahead of Lukasz Zaluska and Dominic Cervi and, speaking briefly to the Evening Times, admitted: “There is interest in him, yes.” Celtic registered an interest in Sandomierski two weeks ago, with his club Jagiellonia Bialystok confirming their player could go to Scotland on trial, but only if a possible transfer fee was agreed in advance. The 21-year-old had trials with Everton earlier this year but, with Lennon eager to recruit a new goalkeeper as soon as possible, the Hoops could move to try and take the three-times capped player immediately. Sandomierski made his club debut in 2007 on loan at Lech II Poznan, before returning in the same year to establish himself as Jagiellonia’s first choice. A further loan spell at Second League side Ruch Wysokie Mazowieckie followed in 2009, before the Under-21 international made the breakthrough into the Poland national team.
Anyone decent coming through the ranks ready to break into the first team? Keatings must be near ready now, he is 19 now is he not? Not a physical player but I'd rather he got a few games than spend 40k a week on Bellamy.
eltic agree £1.75m fee for Grezgorz Sandomierski By Gaffney Last updated: 6th August 2011 According to weszlo.com Celtic have agreed a £1.75 million deal for 22 year old Grzegorz Sandomierski. Grzegorz Sandomierski was suppose to come to Celtic on a trial but his club Jagiellonia Białystok said Celtic must agree a fee first. Celtic put in a bid of £500,000 but it was quickly turned down as the club value him much higher. According to the article ‘in polish’ he will fly over in the next few days to talk about personal terms and have a medical. The main thing holding Celtic back is that he cannot play in Celtic’s game vs Sion because he is cup tied. Sandomierski can play in the group stages. Due to his form in the Polish league he has broke through into the Polish national team and has made 3 caps so far. This is a great feat considering he is up against Szczęsny and Fabiański who both play at Arsenal. They said on the radio before the game that they had spoken to his agent and no bids had been received from Celtic.
