Undoubtedly a 'Tottenham in the Summer transfer window' thread isn't far off but until then, post your thoughts here on who we should be signing and dumping.

Defence and upfront are the two areas that need addressing for me.

Two players who are jumping out at me are Lescott and Micah Richards who know the league and will be unwanted by City. I wouldn't mind a cheeky move for Cashley either, Liverpool have been linked but he may prefer to stay in London.

Upfront is a tricky one. On paper the trio of Adebayor, Soldado and Kane looks half decent, but all three are so inconsistent and Bobby is yet to settle in the league. Wouldn't like us to make a move for Remy who has proved to be useful this season and Demba Ba also if Chelsea sign a couple of strikers as except expected.

Note all of these players are UK based already, hopefully avoiding the calamities of last summer.

Think you'll find that the summer transfer thread is already up and running and into its 5th page or something.

Hi folks, new member her, long time reader on this site.

Levy has already stated that their wont be too much upheaval with the squad. I can see 4 in max and about 6 or 7 out.

New gk, cb, lb and a winger come striker are needed in my opinion. I would offload Brad, Gomes, Benny, Livermore, Lennon and either Dawson or Kaboul.

I would like to see all Soldado, chadli, Paulinho, Lamela given another season as im sure we will see an improvement.

The local Daily Echo in Southampton is reporting that Spurs are about to bid for England forward Jay Rodriguez. Spurs are also pursuing Pochettino as coach who is reluctant to extend his contract with Saints as the squad is being broken up due to financial issues with the club within debt:-

He wouldn't come, but yeah, I wouldn't mind Cole at LB for a year or two. Strikers, I would love to have Bony, if Swansea would sell.

Welcome Hugo, can't use your full ID for obvious reasons.

No harm of Chadli going anywhere, hes our next Bale, next superstar but Paulinho rumours to the chavs don't appear to be going away and there is little to no chance of any club making big bids for Lamela or Soldado so they should be here next year unless our new manager is told he has to sell before he can buy and doesn't rate either player.

Looks increasingly like Benitez or Pocket and I think Paulinho, lamela and Chadli will all feature in the plans, as will soldado.

I upset a few fans on the saints board and been hit with "arrogant" "wum" "twat"...charming! for reminding them saints are a small club (compared to us) as they where getting a tad cocky and saying they can't understand why their manager would even consider us, not that I want him anyway, even if he has done a fine job with the saints.

    I don't want him either.

  11. I know I've taken the piss out of Benitez in the past (some may recall that I affectionately referred to him as Coco), but he'd be a breath of fresh air after the last two (proper) clowns we've had to suffer. I was very impressed with what Benitez did with the Chavs, going down in their history books as one of their greatest ever managers, winning something for them in his first and only season, and despite the fact that he had to run a continual barrage of foul abuse from their so-called fans.

Benitez would be a huge coup for us if it happens. My 2nd choice would be De Boer and third choice Poccettino.

Benitez can't really claim it as he was only there half a season but totally agree about the last two clowns as you put it.

I think a lot of the anti-Benitez vibe is due to his history, he was sacked by both Liverpool and Chelsea. People (and i'm guilty myself) tend to forget he built a brilliant Liverpool team and won the CL against the odds and as HIAG said in a short time he became a Chelsea great against the odds again.

Rafa spent a fortune at Liverpool, 76 players, 229 million. That would be the sort of thing Levy would have noted.

I think were Benitez to take over we would soon be vey frustrated with his style of player and his constant tinkering. I would much rather we employ a Dutch, German or British manager some one who is imbued with the type of football we like to see at Spurs.

If we were playing the best football in the league as we were a couple of seasons ago we would not be so obsessed with CL football which don't forget is first and foremost about money for most of the participants.

Easy money that in the hands of Levy means potential strengthening of the squad.
Spurs are not the Goons, who they need that money so that Kroenke et al can pay the
wage bill without dipping into the ever-growing cash surplus.

There isn't a British manager good enough anywhere for us Spurf. German or Dutch yes.

He worked well at Valencia under a DoF, though.
