LIST UPDATED This next few days could be the busiest Jan window we've seen at PR for a long time - and boy do we need some new faces. With our injury list ever increasing, our confidence shot to pieces, and our paper thin squad, re-inforcements are urgently needed before we get sucked into the relegation mire. So, to date, we've signed the non-league Peter Crouch, a defensive midfielder who's played competitively once in 8 months, and a wing back released by a struggling L1 team - neither of them are hardly going to set the league alight (as well as taking time to get match fit) Because of our desperate state, other clubs are either unwilling to sell to us, or totally inflate the asking price for a player, knowing full well we are desperate for additions. So, who have we actually bid for, and which are just paper talk. On the grapevine I've heard; Steven Taylor (CB) - Signed Toumani Diagouraga (CM) - Loan signing Danny Rowe (LW) - Permanent Signing from Macclesfield Josh Morris (L/Winger, Scunthorpe) Ben Dickensen (L/Winger - Colchester) Matty Taylor (Striker - Bristol Rovers) Danny Ward (striker - Rotherham) Marley Watkins (Striker - Barnsley) Jordan Hugill (Striker - Preston) Max Power - (Midfield - Wigan) Will Grigg - (Striker - Wigan) Omar Bogle (Striker - Grimsby) Lloyd Isgrove (Winger - Southampton) There's also a strong rumour that Berra will be off this month, to Hearts, with the possibility of Callum Patterson coming in the opposite direction. Now, this would normally be absolutely stunning, but you have to remember that Patterson is out for at least 10 months with cruciate damage. I'm sure there's a few more, and I wouldn't be surprised if none of them came to us - and instead MM signing either a couple of 30 something journey men, and some non-league kids - either way, I'm not holding my breath for anything remotely exciting
Steven Taylor already confirmed until the end of the season. Happy with that to cover Webster. A good CB. Mick claims Huggy is going nowhere in January, shame really. Can't wait for Tommy to make that left CB position his again.
I agree SD, pleased with Taylor - assuming he's fit, and also agree with Berra - has been the biggest liability this season for us - non-league Lincoln ran him absolutely ragged, he had absolutely no clue at all that day (and most of the season too)
Putting bids in for players is great providing the bid is realistic, how many times are we told that we've bid for players but the bid didn't reach the valuation? If we really want the player we must expect to pay the going rate and stop this charade every transfer window.
Another journeyman in Taylor, but at least he has experience and age on his side! Hey, MM, I will throw my hat into the ring!
ME is furious that a bid has been accepted for talented Macc Town winger Danny Rowe.... Good signing credit where it's due.
I think it's very noble of ME to take on these players from lower leagues and them a hefty pay rise for a couple of years then discard them.... very charitable of him
Is it me or do I detect a note of cynicism which seems to rear it's ugly head every transfer window? Can't think why.
I'm just waiting on the news that we have signed Lawrence on a permanent! Without him folks we will be completely fooked!
How true Warky, what a find he has been, cheque book time ME. If, and only if we climb the table to a respectable top 10, at least by recent seasons standards, one would think the MM would make a decent bid for him come the Spring. One would think....
The chance we had was at the start of the season......pay 3million and easily double your money in a season.
