Makes you wonder if it is financially viable if it only outputs players for the 2nd-4th+ tiers. I think our recruiting is pretty good on the whole - Gino doesn’t break the bank on chances, generally, and I do feel very comfortable with that. Perhaps you have to farm hundreds like Chelski et al in order to find the one truly special player? But as ofh says, perhaps if we did go to all that expense, the kid would just get hoovered up by Chelski with a laughably nominal ‘fee’ as recompense? I think Gino would love to stay in the Premiership, but thankfully isn’t going ‘**** or bust’ to stay in. Better to do a Burnley, or Palarse. Heady days, and yes, felt very proud they started with us. Gibbs was another, and of course more recently, Lloydinho. I do feel more love for them, definitely. That’s Warwickshire, isn’t it?
I guess it is a shame no real youth players have come through but anyone decent seems to be poached as you say. The Pozzos are at least football people so understand the game and have passion for it. They just have a blind spot for defenders at times.
Personally it is all becoming a real issue after 60 years of support... I struggle with the up-down nature of WFC and the short termism both in terms of managers and players etc etc... ... I also question whether a lot of these foreign transfers in are really up to it....... Slightly depressed with it all currently... (Of course.. if we win ther next three all that will change...... but..........................)
They said they are looking for a better offer than WFC wanting to pay a pound a week and deliver Danny Rose to rhem
Not according to his agent who says the player is not only staying but if we get relegated that will trigger a buy-out clause!
What we have learned at this stage of the season? simple, our defense is simply not anywhere near good enough to keep us in this league. We also need a midfield player to link defense and attack, we to often hoof the ball forward, for it to come straight back or give away possession with sloppy passing.
Maybe the midfield problem will be sorted by some decent defenders? I don't know much about the three we have just signed - although Samir looks to be more than handy - but if we manage to land Vida and the other one from PSG we've been linked with, everything could change.
Sounds like Danny Rose is in no hurry to leave.. 18 months pay for doing nothing potentially? They will have to pay him off I suspect.
