'The Monster' signing is back on the cards it seems - I'm sure we were rumoured to be buying him a couple of seasons ago. Competition from Arsenal this time. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/06/...international-defender-nicknamed-the-monster/
The Pape Gueye saga continues - “Pape will not go to Watford. The contract was signed in January, but it has not yet taken effect and no one can force it,” the entourage stressed. Popcorn at the ready, waiting for Gino's response... http://sportwitness.co.uk/entourage...higher-for-watford-player-he-has-other-plans/
We might as well just cut our losses and look for someone who wants to come. I know Holebas wasn't that keen bit think that was more because Roma sold him to us whilst he was on holiday !!
There will be a money and contract factor... and I am sure the Pozzos will want a return on thier investment
Yes - we just don't want to be messed around too much and lose focus on other signings we need to make. I mean we have a few midfielders really compared to other positions - presume the guy is being seen as a Doucouré replacement? Sure Pearson if he stays won't want to spend half the "summer" wondering if this guy is coming. I bet he signed but then the agent said careful they might go down - we can get you a better club.
The agent also discussed figures. 5 million euros buyout in the contract but said that since the contract was signed his value was only 1.6m so Watford will have to come down. I don't think we do!
Likely he doesn't join now but this is all nonsense. On the one hand it's claimed he will earn a pitence with us whilst some claim he will be on as much as 30k a week that I can't see anybody would pay him that much. Then he says Arsenal are interested to pay him 3 times as much. Then he says he wants to stay in France where nobody is going to pay him anywhere near the amount a Premier team will pay him. It is impossible to understand the new agents plans in this. Lastly, I can't understand why the Pozzo's haven't taken this agent aside and straightened him out.
Will Jaamaat stay past this summer ? http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-m...-comments-bad-luck-injury-coronavirus-return/
Maybe it's just me, but that's a confusing article. The quotes they attribute to him don't appear to suggest that at all.
This season, we just have not taken enough of the chances we have created. To remain in the EPL you have to take a good percentage of any chances created, Thursday we created chances and just one taken would have given us a point.
Looks like he is going before he arrives! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...lks-marseille-sell-new-midfielder-pape-gueye/
Well Championship football with us potentially or Champions league football with Marseille is hardly going to be a close run thing. Makes you wonder why he signed in the first place if top French clubs were iinterested?
