Report saying Watford have bid £54m for PSG player Goncalo Guedes.

Is this a joke?

 

The reliable Culture PSG are reporting this evening that Premier League side Watford have offered just under €60m to sign PSG winger Gonçalo Guedes.

However, the Portuguese international is maintaining his stance that he only wants a move to Valencia this summer.

The 21-year-old has been the subject of interest from Watford throughout 2018, with PSG wanting to sell to the highest bidder this summer, especially with an FFP investigation hanging over them. Wolves were also expected to challenge for the player, but appear to have moved on to other targets.

Valencia are happy to wait until after tomorrow’s English deadline, and are hoping that Guedes remains firm in refusing to move to any other club but them, which he is currently doing.

PSG have put enormous pressure on Guedes in recent days to accept a move elsewhere, with Valencia not offering close to the €60m that Les Parisiens want for the player.

The clock is ticking.

Further reports suggest he will not be joining us as no discussions have taken place.

 

If he wants to go to Valencia then he would be a better player for them than for us.

Plenty of rumours going around but we know how our owners work - not too much gets released in the press but they're bound to be working on something. The problem is everyone knows how much money Prem teams have, and especially us after the Richarlison money, so we will be getting charged over the odds on everyone - with players demanding stupid wages

As much as I want a CB, we have 7 already so need to offload at least 2/3 before bringing one in. Same goes with strikers, with Deeney, Gray and Okaka.

 

This... again this morning (Guardian) : Stefano Sturaro has apparently bid farewell to his Juventus team-mates, with a season’s loan to Watford said to be in the offing, though Genoa would happily take him back again.

 

The Pozzo trawler net has no limits:

"Watford are rumoured to be close to announcing a deal for 20-year-old midfielder Kwasi Sibo. The Ghanaian midfielder currently plies his trade for Armenian club FC Banants."

Sky sources: Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter will join Cardiff City on a season long loan.

Watford were in for him too, but the player has chosen Cardiff.

 

Guess he wanted to be playing each week .
