Schalke have released Kabak with Palace and Newcastle both showing interest. Still not sure if discussions are taking place with us or if the asking price is too high.

Sounds like he’s off to Leicester. Can’t see anywhere about them releasing him, would make no sense given they could get £10m for him easily.
We had our discussion recently on buying a better 5th choice centre back. But it was very encouraging to see Matip, Gomez and VVD all back in first team training.
I hope all 3 are fully fit and sharp for the start of the season. I still maintain that even if we had Matip and Gomez as our CB partnership last season, we win the league.
Ignoring his **** of a agent, I'd be very happy with this signing; quick, powerful, high energy and can play across the front three.
He is the perfect Mane replacement. Unfortunately, I think he's off to Dortmund first. Then he'll smash it and we'll be ultimately priced out when we decide to go for him.
My mistake, I stopped reading after the first line of the headline just read back and it says 'Schalke release Kabak ... from preseason'.
If a club is in the marketing for u24 players who will increase in value they need to move fast as dortmund will sign everyone once man utd and Chelsea given them nearly 250mil.
It's a crazy amount for one club to be dropped on the basis of buying young players.
There's 5 of 6 more at dortmund that they could sell for massive amounts.
The sad thing is no matter how many they seem to have they can't win the league there or improve in the cl. They seem content to be that stepping stone.
