I'd argue had Mignolet been in goal for the 2018 CL final we might have won.

I feel we did a disservice replacing him with Karius (replacing him with Allison was fair)
Tbf if i had been in goal in 2018 final we might have won lmao
But Karius was nt that bad he just picked the worst time to have a poor game.
I prefer to blame the **** bag Ramos lol :)

Ignoring the money, I think he'll prove to be a good signing for them

Only in the fact that he can’t be worse than Jones and stalling maybe. But he’ll get found out imo. He’s not quick enough pace wise and just general mobility to deal with top strikers like aguero Salah Firmino who have that speed of thought and movement.

Throw the ball in the box and yeah he’ll head it away all day though.

He's been playing against those same top strikers for a while anyway. The only difference is that the burden of expectation will now increase.

Karius is a decent keeper but that game destroyed his confidence. He was the keeper that helped us to that final but doesn't get much
credit for it tbh

Perhaps not, but that wasn't the point.
You said he'd get found out against top strikers, I merely pointed out that he's been playing against those same strikers for a while already.

Well for Leicester he was back to wall defence, 2 midfielders in front of him. United although aren’t super attacking won’t offer him as much protection as they’ll have pogba in the middle doing no defensive work and a big gap behind where he’ll be asked to push forward and his pace will get exposed.

We are hoping to have another CB beside him. Bailly, Lindelof and Smalling are fast enough to cover and hopefully AWB has the game intelligence to spot danger and drop back when needed, he is fast as ****.

Totally agree
He always had a mistake in him but I don’t think he will ever get over that final
Sad really :(

Ake would be a better fit for an attacking side imo. Like you say Maguire is used to playing for teams that sit behind the ball.

He'll get exposed without a pacey partner, no doubt.

He was. He let one through his hands against Roma at Anfield, just like he let Bale's through in Kiev. He was ****ing awful. Any six foot plus athlete athlete will pull off the occasional save - only a proper keeper like Ray Clemence commands his six-yard box. Allison was awesome and competent in those last 15 minutes in Madrid, and that is just what we needed. He's started off iffy this season, but I trust him to get his competence back. Mignolet was a great shot-stopper and penalty saver, but he was scared to come off his line. Karius was just garbage - there's no way of dressing that up.
