We were linked with Nico Williams and having now seen him play, it's a big yes please from me. Always cautious about how players come across in a tournament but I'd be willing to take a chance on him.
Only reason people aren't convinced by Slot yet is because he's not a big name signing. Everyone needs to be given a chance somewhere, just mattress it slightly higher risk that we're the ones giving him that opportunity.
Nobody can be convinced by anyone who's not got a record at the highest level. Klopp and rafa were unique in that one broke Bayern dominance and got to a CL final amd the other did similar in Spain. No disrespect to the Dutch league but it literally is the Dutch league so not a high level. I'm fully sure slot will be given every chance to prove his skill and attributes to lead. But in the end most people are waiting for it to kick off and show what's what and that's normal. We just have not experienced it in a while.
That's just barca doing the usual. Tapping up the player and making sure they wait for barca. Williams looks far better than yamal imo.
I really think we just need to fine tune here unless an unknown wave of players leaving hits like Saudi money etc. I'd like to sign rodri and nico Williams personally
That's not true in my case. In fact it's the one thing in his favour. My hesitation is, as I've said, somewhat illogical. He just doesn't feel like the right one. It's my gut instinct. We all have them. I've also said that I'm prepared to give him a chance and for me, it's already starting to go in the right direction. I liked his press conference. I'm not someone who takes a stance on a person and doesn't alter my opinion if faced with favourable evidence.
Williams is 3 years older than Yamal which means he's 3 years further along in development and it shows. We shouldn't even be seeing a 16 year old starting consistently for his country which is testament to how good the youngster is. (Bearing in mind I've only seen each of them play this once.) Williams looks strong in every department with added twinkle toes. Hopefully he's getting good advice on his career. I said similar this time last year about Bellingham. On that note, while I was all in for us to sign Bellingham, I'm not liking what I'm seeing of him. Diving, faking, moaning with a sprinkling of arrogance thrown in. Rumours that he's not well liked in the England camp which echoes what was said by teammates when he left Dortmund. I really hope he reins it in and gets a career that fans can also enjoy.
Yamal imo is going to be OK.but I think now the hype is massive without the genuine pace so he could be foden like. If he was 19 not 16 people would be OK, he's good so what.
Yamal is not quick. He's been good not question and a phenom as a 16 year old but he could be at the same.level in 5 years, who knows. I don't see measi here I see another foden. And as a joke he's short and Williams is tall
But he’s not 19, he’s 17 (just) so that makes no sense whatsoever. He was 16 and scored 1 and got a couple assists at a Euros. He created more chances from open play than anyone else. He’s playing for Barcelona and playing regularly. He hasn’t even grown into his own body yet - still developing muscle. So his strength and speed will increase as he does that. Imagine how good any pro footballer is at the top level right now - then think how good they were at 17 and I doubt majority of them weren’t even close to him. If he can stay injury free and continue to develop over next few years while he physically matured then could be absolutely world class by time he’s 20/21
He's fine. Ok. He's not messi. He's mini foden and that's not bad. I prefer Williams, busier, more dynamic, quicker player. Maybe at the far end of their careers yamal lasts a lot longer beacuse He's not got the pace. Who knows.
No way on earth yamal is 5 10. Plus I said is was a joke knowing some clown aka ahem whoever couldn't resist it. No offeence like.
