Thinking about it. I wish I knew how to set up a poll. But, if given the opportunity to run out at anfield just once or a million pound, I tell you I'd be hard pressed to pick the money. Being sensible, thinking about the family and the future, you'd pick the money. But **** it, can you imagine.
Yeah, but we've had this discussion many times before. A million squid to an ordinary bloke is a life-transforming figure that you couldn't ignore, but when you're already a multi-millionaire and there's no financial pressure on you other factors should surely come into your decision-making. It's greed not need that makes them go to play in a football graveyard. A sad indictment of our pointless money-obsessed society.
Problem is that after about two seconds of watching me play, those cheers would turn to pretty loud boos...
If you're being realistic, I think laughter would probably be the order of the day. Come on, stand on ball, fall over, get winded, come off. What a debut for the lad!
Don’t think everyone going to watch games in Saudi are millionaires? Have you watched any Saudi games? How do you know they are less passionate about their team than us in England?
If there's less than a thousand tipping up for a home game, I'd assume they are not exactly on the same level.
Doak will be Salah’s replacement. He’s going to get lots of opportunity to show that Salah can leave in the next window without us missing him. Am looking forward to see him play more tbh
Said it on Deadline day. We've been long time admires of Fati, so I think we'll be keeping an eye on how he gets on with Brighton.
I don’t there is any point trying to find a Salah replacement as such Sure someone on the right but all we need to do is tighten up at the back and the new mid is a step in the right direction Instead of large chunk of goals coming from a Salah we can share the goals across the team If we don’t concede as many we don’t need to score as many we could win the league scoring just 37 goals (I think)
Yes, Salah can't be replaced by one player. Salah can only be replaced (in the short term at least) by improving multiple positions. A player of Salah's ability is not available at a price we can afford in most windows. If we can get a new winger, improve a full back position and a centre-back position all with the money from Salah... we can keep our points tally high all while not actually replacing Salah with a specific individual who is equally as good as he is.
At 17 years old, he's not replacing Salah. He's a really exciting prospect and assuming Salah leaves next year or the year after, I would be expecting a seasoned pro as Salah's replacement with Doak learning and developing before he's a regular starter. His development has to be managed properly because it's not in his or our best interests to burn him out at such a young age.
Not sure what the minimum amount of goals you need to win the league is, I suppose it depends on how many points the other teams could achieve. But win every game 1-0: 38 goals, 114pts. Taking into account other teams are going to lose games, you probably could afford to draw games 0-0 meaning you might not even need to score 38.
