    TRANSFER RUMOURS

Michal Kadlec is said to be flattered by Liverpool's interest earlier this season and is tempted by playing Premier League.

Liverpool have not yet made contact with Bayer Leverkusen defender Michal Kadlec, but the left back said he would welcome a move to Anfield.

The Reds scouted a Leverkusen game earlier in the season, and reportedly had their eye on the Czech defender, ESPN.com reports. The rumored interest came as exciting news to Kadlec.

"To be connected with such a big club flatters me. Who would not be tempted to play in the Premier League?"

Kadlec (pictured above right) still has another two years on his contract with Leverkusen, but if the team fails to qualify for next season's Champions League, they will be looking to sell off a few players. Kadlec said he's not sure if Liverpool is still interested, but he'd be open to the move.

"I know that they were present at our early season game against Dortmund, which we won 2-0," Kadlec said of the Liverpool scouts. "But I don't know whether there has been any progress since then."

Leverkusen currently sit in second place, which is the last automatic spot for the Champions League competition.

Looks like a decent player from what I’ve seen. I wouldn’t mind if we took a punt on him. 26 years old so not too far down the line and I would think he would suit the premier league quite well. What do you guys think?

What about Gael Clichy.?We're linked with him too.Could get him cheap as he's in the last year of his contract, maybe we could tempt the Goonies with Joe Cole in part exchange, and that would kill two birds with the one stone. We get a left back, and it would piss Harry Taxknapp off.He wants Joe Cole and thinks all he has to do is click his fingers and Liverpool would sell.

Yeah but I have a feeling we won't be the only team in for Clichy, Real Madrid were linked at one stage and I'm sure Barca wouldn't mind getting him as Abidal ain't a wipper snapper anymore...

Having said that though, Clichy would be a nice fit for us. Attacking left back with PL experience. Fits the bill nicely. How much do you reckon we'd have to pay them?

£8-£12 million.I can't see it being any higher than that, especially if he fancies the move himself, which he might during the summer.

Can't see why we wouldn't make a move if he was available. And I'm sure with Commolli's contacts he'd be monitoring the situation.

Stories today report Kenny's been offered a two year deal and a war chest for signings.

Meanwhile, confirmation appears to be approaching on the sale of Rooney. Fergie's had enough of him. That's the official reason, anyway. Any suggestions he was always going once he questioned transfer policy and was bought off to shut up until season's end are mere speculation from deluded Liverpool fans who are just jealous, nyah nyah nyah.

This will, of course, mean "the Ronaldo money" won't be mentioned anymore and Fergie can have "the Rooney money" to spend whenever he wants, presumably on more players he hasn't looked at.

It suggests there's a short term plan for the immediate future as well as a long term one.

    The Rooney money.?
Ferguson will not be able to sign the goal-keeper,the two central midfielders and a replacement striker he needs out of the £10 million he gets for Rooney, thats unless he raids the Portugese 4th division and League 2.
