I don't mind that they are free, there are some decent players in there, however, when we cannot afford the wages and yet teams like Ipswich can in the signing of Bowyer that worries and pi**es me off. Okay I read others saying that we should not pay Bowyer x amount but truth is you are getting him on a free transfer, even £7k a week above what we offered him means an increase of £350,000 over a year, a quarter of the Kasper fee. Just a worrying pattern, can't afford to meet the wages of a relegated preston goalie, nor the wages on offer by Ipswich... I would rather see an extra £350,000 for the year going out on securing Bowyer than say a transfer fee of £350,000 paid for someone like Montgomery
Montgomery is average at best and will not improve the squad.... a poor DM in a poor relegated SU team last year. There are better options than him out there....but i agree that position is where the money needs to be spent unless there is a free who will do a great job in that role.

Frings is too good for us atm. Its just annoying being all 34 year olds, then even more annoying that they are free aswell
Frings could get into many teams, hes a fit lad and tbh, i thought he was in his late 20's it was only until i wiki'd him and BAM YA MAM, Hes 34 and then to see vids from last season, just goes to show just how good he his.

We're looking for the best players to get us into the PL this season. And for all of you complaining about their ages look at the average age of our usual starting XI last season; if anyhthing we need more experience, and IMO Brown is a player who fits us perfectly at the moment. Bowyer was reportedly asking for £10k a week more in wages than Becchio is on, I'm glad we didn't buckle, it would have been absurd.
