Quite a bit going about today so throwing it into one. Moses Sunderland have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Victor Moses. The Nigerian international’s contract with the Blues runs until 2019, but the player has never established himself at Stamford Bridge. He made 43 appearances - mostly as a substitute - for the club in his first season following a £9 million switch from Wigan Athletic, scoring 10 goals. But the following three campaigns saw the 25-year-old farmed out on season-long loans to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United respectively. Moses is not thought to be in new boss Antonio Conte’s plans. And reports on Saturday claimed Sunderland could be in line to offer the player - who can operate up front or in wide areas - regular first-team football. Sam Allardyce is set to overhaul his squad, and wants added pace and firepower to ease the goalscoring burden on Jermain Defoe. The Black Cats manager is also understood to be targeting at least one midfield option, and has been credited in the Spanish Press with an interest in Sevilla’s Vicente Iborra. However, the 28-year-old has expressed his deep contentment with life at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. And sources in Spain have now reported that should he backtrack from that stance and opt to leave the Europa League winners, Sunderland would face stiff competition from Valencia for his services. Subotic/Chantome Sunderland’s chances of landing Dortmund defender Neven Subotic have been handed a major boost, with his agent confirming he’s likely to leave the Bundesliga side. The Black Cats were linked with the centre-back last month. He has been with the Bundesliga giants for eight years. Subotic only played 11 matches for Dortmund last season before his season was cut short by an arm injury. Back to fitness for the new campaign, he had hoped Mats Hummels’ move to Bayern Munich would boost his chances of more game time at the Westfalenstadion. However, the club have since signed Barcelona’s Marc Bartra – and now his agent has been quoted as saying he is likely to leave the club. Frieder Gramm told Kicker: “Currently it does not look like he will get more game time in the upcoming season. “But he absolutely wants to play, and does not want to earn his money on the bench.” Gramm also told Der Westen: “We are currently scouting the market.” As well as Sunderland, Hamburg have been credited with interest in the 27-year-old. Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker: “We will treat Neven’s situation with the necessary and deserved respect.” That suggests they’re open to negotiations. Meanwhile, Sunderland have missed out on signing French central midfielder Clement Chantome - with the former Bordeaux man agreeing to join Rennes. The Black Cats had scouted the 28-year-old with his contract at the Ligue 1 side up this summer. There was also interest from Premier League rivals Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Everton, with reports in France earlier this month suggesting he was in advanced talks with two of the four. However, that move to England is now dead with the player set to sign a three year contract with Rennes. please log in to view this image Bordeaux' French midfielder Clement Chantome Their manager Christian Gourcuff confirmed today that Chantome is at the club to undergo a medical and sign personal terms ahead of the free transfer. Sunderland are looking to do a deal with Rubin Kazan that would see Yann M’Vila return to the club after an impressive season-long loan, Sam Allardyce is targeting a midfielder who can be more of a threat in the final third of the pitch. Chantome is another player who is more defensive-minded, however, although he still would have been a quality addition to the squad - especially on a free. He was capped once by France in 2012 and was once a target of Arsenal. Last season at Bordeaux he was among Ligue 1’s top 20 most accurate passers. Williams/Graham Sunderland have been linked with a move for Reading midfielder Danny Williams - but face competition from three others for his signature, according to reports. The German-born USA international has just one year left on his contract with Reading and the Daily Mail report that his representatives have been contacted by Sunderland as well as rivals Newcastle United, Swansea City and Aston Villa. Williams, a central midfielder, made 46 appearances for the Royals last season and scored six goals. Despite that, he missed out on a place in the USA’s Copa America squad and that could influence a decision to end his three year stay at the Madejski Stadium. Sunderland already have two defensive midfielders in Jan Kirchhoff and Lee Cattermole, while they are also still working hard to make Yann M’Vila’s loan from Rubin Kazan a permanent deal. Sam Allardyce has spoken previously about wanting a new central midfielder, but he wants one who can have more say in the final third of the pitch and Williams only created three goals last season in total. The Black Cats are likely to let fringe midfielder Liam Bridcutt go this summer, while Seb Larsson could also head for the exit door. But 27-year-old Williams would likely only be a squad player were Allardyce to pursue his interest any further. Meanwhile, Sunderland’s pursuit of M’Vila is been held up by the two club’s negotiations over the fee that will be paid. All parties involved in the deal seem resigned to the fact that the French midfielder will leave Rubin Kazan this summer, but with six months still left on M’Vila’s deal, the Russian side are holding out for a reasonable fee. Finally, Danny Graham is closing in on a free transfer to Blackburn Rovers. The striker was deemed surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light by Allardyce last season and was loaned to Ewood Park for the rest of the season in January. With his contract up this summer, the loan signalled the end of a frustrating spell at Sunderland for the Gateshead-born player who managed just one goal at the club. However, he impressed at Blackburn and despite a new manager arriving this summer he is reported to be having his medical today and will join the club on July 1 as a free agent.
Thanks for the update Bri, two days into the window and Sam hasn't signed anyone, patience appears to be the name of the game.
Not much will happen in most place until the Euros finish anyway because of the transfer chains. The gossip is really going to pick up though.
palace putting bids in of up to £31m for players !, £25m for Benteck, £14m for Townsend, they must have come into money.
Think they've got new owners who are keen to spend some money. Not that it always works out just look at us, still getting rid of crap now.
Sam having Moses at West Ham has got to be a plus....would take the lad if we can get him for a sensible price....throw Giacerrini into the deal and it could be promising.....
