ok guys will qpr break there transfer record, as it stands mike sheron holds top spot & i think it was 3.25 or 2.75mil but will stand corrected, so who do you think it will be that will break that record, starting with parker/maynard/onuhua/crouch & so on.
We didnt pay £3.5million for Faurlin, that was all a load of PR bull and was one of the reasons we ended up in court.
The irony of the "promotion to Premiership" thing is that the whole squad of 30 or so players work their butts off to get promotion, but once we're up there and the squad is strengthened, only 2 or 3 will be good enough for the first team, and half the original squad will be on their way out of the club
I still remember the day we signed sheron. Unbelievable that his record still stands almost 15 years on....
I forgot about Heskey! Just the kind of "hard working, no nonsense" player Warnock would be drawn to and mug enough to fork out top dollar for. I think I stand more chance of getting in Kate "Duchess of Cambridge" Middleton's knickers than Scotty Parker signing for £4mil, he's worth at least twice that and why come from the Hammers to us? If he is going anywhere I can only expect it to be a more established team. Only an hour to go to the press conference where yet another Formula 1 wide boy announces he wants to muck about in a game he knows nothing about. WE ARE QPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember The Sheron signing. £2.7m if I'm not mistaken. He was in the papers the next saturday, 'hopefully this move will get me an England call up'
I think it is more than possible that we haven't been able to spend that amount on actual transfer fees in nearly all those 15 years put together.
The potted history of QPR on the website says that Sheron was £2.1 million and John Spencer was £2.35 million.
To bring in the quality we need I expect that record to blown out of the water. Really hope we can land Parker, just the type of player we need.
