<peacedove>When we visit Stoke City on the 10th of September we may be
playing against one or two ex-Liverpool players.
    1.Salif Diao
    2.Jamaine Pennant
    3.Peter Crouch.
These players are going to prove that they are good enough especially playing
against their old club:they would like to prove some points.
As if that is not a problem on his own, we have to cope with the long throw of Rory Delap.
Going to Stoke and bring back all the three points is not easy, but it's not impossible.
I know Kenny Dalglish is going to have a different approach to his predecessors.
Our boys can do it.! <ok>

Maybe a bit too early for our man-mountain centre back, Sebastian Koaretez

They will be fairly solid, however if we attack them with pace and movement we should have too much up front for them to cope with.

Carroll on the bench again for me I'm afraid.

I agree with this, against the likes of Stoke we really need to play the ball on the ground.

yes, some people will argue that you need to put out a strong physical side against stoke but the problem is stoke are good at that what they don't like (as most) is the ball being played around them at pace.

There's that word again, 'pace'. We were accused pretty recently of not having any, so what's changed?

We, we got rid of Poulsen who had the turning circle of an aircraft carrier and Bellamy has plenty of the stuff.

although not a team of speed merchants I don't think we are as bad as some would make out. However, allthough speedy players are useful, they are easily combatted by defenders with pace, what I feel is more important and harder to defend against is moving the ball at pace.

I'm with you now. Ball pace is different to running pace, and we have been doing that under Kenny.

The accusation wasn't true- it was Schofield on the wum. We may not be the fastest, but I think we've enough pace with end product to trouble defences.
I agree we need to play the ball on the floor, we look much more effective that way. Carroll as sub for me as well.

It's NOT the speed of running that is the vital factor. It IS the speed of thinking, passing and positioning that makes the difference.

Brilliant stuff. I'm glad Kenny saw the same as us and values Spearing over Poulsen and Shelvey over Cole.
I would start the Stoke game with the same team that beat Bolton, bring Bellamy and Carroll on in the 2nd half and see how they cope with that.

Stoke too physical, we need defenders who have been used to the premiership for more than two years for this.<ok>

stoke will be tough, rafa pulled a fast one last time with team selection.

I really don't know what we'll do... but.... as per usual SUAREZ will be the key. he's the one stoke have to stop.

Team of Lucaas.....Only my opinion, our Sebastian may find it a little difficult to read the game.It is not that he is not capable.I think we need
someone who played on that ground before. He can come in as sub at a stage.<ok>

People will go on about playin Carroll v Stoke,Im not sure we should

We MUST however play THREE in midfieild, I guarantee that Stoke will play 2 wingers, with 2 CMs,we must play 3 against them to stop them gettin possesion in the first place, and starve them of the ball

Id plat the same team as Bolton(excellent performance) ,butt 433 and not 442
